Castsequence macros

So I just found and tested a castsequence macro on my rogue alt and it’s absurd that this is even allowed. I mean the entire rogue burst opener can be put on one button and spammed. It requires no skill and should be considered cheating and lead to permanent bans.

The blizz dev’s need to stop worrying about prot paladins and start worrying about the structure of their game. Rogues, Ferals and Marksmen Hunters are absurdly over tuned. Adding in the stupid macro and now they never make a mistake either?!? We might as well just program everything and just watch it like a movie if this is the new direction. MAKE THIS CRAP ILLEGAL!

Well, was start of a good read before blipping away.

Edit: and now it back… onward to chapter 2

Yeah I dunno what happened their, but it should be back.

Macros are like keybinds as long as one stroke = one action they are completely okay.

In this case one stroke = a series of preplanned movements taking the skill out of the game and giving classes like rogues that do not have long GCDs a huge advantage over classes that do have normal GCDs.

Actually they dont because they simply go down a list of spells and fire off the ones that are not on cool down with each stroke. A good player will always out do a player whom is using a macro.

The best Macro’s users will split their rotations up into more than one keybind macro, so they have more control in what fires off with each stroke. To get better numbers.

Wait until the OP realizes people can use add ons like Weakauras to literally tell them when to hit skills.

The problem is that it is blind and dumb to what’s going on. What happens when you lose control of your character during it? Oh that’s right, the macro freezes where it’s at. What happens when you keep spamming it, even though the sequence is over? Oh that’s right, the reset timer keeps getting reset. So if you have a reset timer of 10s on it or something, it’s 10s from the time you last hit the button. Each time you hit it, it will push that timer back to 10s. Yeah, there’s workarounds for that like reset on target switch or combat, but still, they have their limitations.

Point is, you lose a lot of control over things. It’s okay to pair a couple things together if one of them is off the GCD, but beyond that, I wouldn’t be trying to stuff too many things into a macro because while it may work on a target dummy, it can break elsewhere and then your muscle memory is screwed because you no longer know what sequence to hit during that short period of time.

I mean, cast sequence macros only work during openers with a lot of GCDs to get out of the way in a specific sequence, and only for some classes anyway.

I mean the most value i ever got out of one was making a castsequence macro for vampiric touch and shadow word pain to save a keybind slot a few years ago.
