Castsequence macro question

Hello all,

I don’t use macros very often, and I only use the in-game macro window to create the ones I do use. I do not have any software for my keyboard or mouse that allows macro creation, just a basic KB/mouse combo.

I’m currently levelling a shaman, and have 4 buffs to cast; Lightning Shield, Earth Shield, Flametongue Weapon and Skyfury. I found a castsequence macro online to use, which should require 4 button presses, but I like it because it only uses one button spot on my action bars.

However, when I cast it, it applies my 2 shields and Flametongue Weapon with only one press (without the macro, Lightning Shield also casts Flametongue Weapon at the same time).

Is this allowed, or is it byassing the global cooldown in some way? I was under the impression that macros created within the in-game macro window is fine, but maybe I’m missing something?

This is the macro in question:

#showtooltip
/castsequence reset=10 Lightning Shield, Earth Shield, Flametongue Weapon, Skyfury

Apologies if this is a dumb question, I don’t use macros often.

With that macro setup it’s not performing multiple casts in a single press. It might be there’s some talent applying one or the other or it just feels that way because they’re off the gcd. Regardless, it’s not an issue.

Elvenbane called it. It’s one of the capstone talents that increases your Int & applies your imbues & Earth Shield when you cast Lightning Shield. I have a similar castsequence that’s part of a bigger macro & Skyfury upfront for BR situations.
