Remove the huge time sink of leveling. If you are looking for an engagement metric than opening up more characters to play would probably keep me playing longer than making me drudge through another classic leveling process.
There is nothing new to learn with these classes. This world is a world we have been playing in for over a decade.
You guys will have classic. with the slowest leveling process of all time, where you can spend out the rest of your days leveling and leveling and leveling.
My personal experience was not liking my class at 60 and the thought of leveling another character made me just give up.
Lets have servers we can progress our 60’s on, fresh servers starting at level 1, and other fresh servers where you can start at level 58.
Okay sorted. You have your servers where you can create instant 58’s. I’ll be on mine where i can take this character
I agree with this. Level 58 and a set of gear like you get on PTR. Greens is fine since upgrades will be available. The point is to play BC content not to go through all the Classic content again just to get to BC and any class that isn’t in the leveling meta for AOE dungeon runs is going to get left in the dust.
I think this would be the best option all round, reset the economy and dont force people to replay classic all over again.
It would be even better if they implemented something to stop the bots otherwise we will be back to square one in a few months.
I’m starting to feel like this is the most logical way to handle TBC. As much as I think that Fresh is needed to prevent a dumpster fire, that doesn’t mean that starting from level 1 is necessarily productive.
Fresh 58 seems like the most structured solution to this complex situation that we’re in.
Those who have a huge amount of gold, will have a huge amount of gold pretty quickly even on fresh servers. The sole benefit would be a short reprieve early on, but you’d have to make people give up their characters.
The most obvious reason this won’t be how it’s done is because of the titles being lost for your character that you worked so hard to do in PvP in Classic. Most people may not be aware that the titles for PvP in Classic carried over to other expansions. You couldn’t achieve them any longer but you still had them. With this method of characters starting at level 58 there won’t be any titles available because you wouldn’t have killed anyone on your fresh level 58 at the start of the Burning Crusade.
It’s going to be a mess at any choice Blizzard will make. There are pro and cons for all of them. The choke points will be funny though with all the posts that will come stating the obvious.
Blizzard’s dilemma will of course be how many ‘new’ servers choice and how clogged everything will get early on. Just like Classic was.
