Had to switch from a lock to this warr. God damn the lock sucked in every way except questing. Melee just TRASHES all casters now because they can stay on them almost 100% of the time. Plus every melee has 1-2 stuns and 1-2 spell locks on a 15 second or less cooldown. AND much more burst. AND much more survivability. There’s literally no reason to play a caster because you won’t be able to cast (unless you’re a mage–they’re OP).
Oh yeah, and rogues need like a 50% damage. And CC needs a 50% nerf across the board as well.

which pet do you use for pvp?
Yeah even as a mage I had some trouble if I wasn’t arcane. And nothing will beat a rogue with a brain.
Odd, Harry Potters are usually dominant when ttk is short. Maybe you’d be happier with a more bursty spec like elemental. MM is crazy bursty too and doesn’t have the susceptibility to silence and interrupt.
I am hoping the situation for casters would be better overtime vs melee but from what I’m seeing, if the legendaries gets enables, the casters would most likely die in a stun or without casting a single spell.
I think this also has to do with how fast paced PvP is now. The only other problem is, every melee has a 5 sec stun and 2-3 interrupts with billion gap closers, so you’ll most likely die or fall extremely behind in that period.

Doubt it …, Ele is super hard work against Melee . Especially at the beginning of the xpac when versatility is low . Can’t burst if you can’t cast and die fast when trained .

Melee tend to be favored early in expansions. Later, as more haste becomes available, casters become stronger and stronger. This is pretty much how it always goes. Not all casters are even in a bad spot. Spriests are amazing, mages are very good and both balance and ele are solid. Locks might have it rough right now, especially if you’re used to BFA destro, but with a bit more gear they’ll be fine too.

I seem to recall this was the case at the start of BfA, and it sorted itself out over the course of the expansion. Generally gear helps a lot.
It’s definitely important to call it out because balance should be something on Blizzard’s radar, just be aware that melee dominance seems to trend highly at the start of an expansion, then taper off over time.
*Edit: Oh, dude above me said the same thing lol. So yea!
I’m having these exact issues. I PvPed hard last night to grind honor. I play both SPriest and Enh/Ele Shaman. Every BG we hopped into I was always low damage. I could barely get any spells off without being stunned and locked. People were even giving me crap, but every fight I got into I literally couldn’t pop off many spells. I’m all about GG’s but I finally got salty and had to get off lol.
I can’t wait for the balancing to start. Melee is very bursty with so many locks/stuns.
it should get better when we get more haste. But yeah it sucks atm cause it takes like almost 2 seconds to get off a spell.
And in that 2 seconds you’re casting your spell, you’re getting stunned/locked xD
Ya casting just isn’t reasonable while getting trained
I don’t play a caster but I’ve seen them get absolutely shredded by that DH covenant ability called “The Hunt” (I believe it’s Night Fae?). They own me with it sometimes so I can’t imagine being a lock trying to hardcast while some spazzy DH is using that while double jumping all over you lmao
Warlock is close to not playable in BG’s at this point. Going affliction and attempting to find different play styles where I don’t get absolutely deleted has not been going well. Damage mitigation is a good tactic but interrupts and self heals completely dominate the slow dps Warlock’s currently have. Close to saying that every class has a heavy damage mitigation/removal or self heal that deletes all the progress you just made on an enemy, meanwhile I use my health stone and then get crit for the exact amount.
It’s been like this since Legion, but it gets worse with every expansion. Why bother putting all the effort that casters require in when I can put in 10% of the effort and do better as melee?
Blizzard introduced a system to prevent a single stat stacking so dont expect to get infinity haste anymore.
Since WoW balance is all about pve and in pve (especially m+) melee actually need all those tools to survive simply being near mobs expect to be trained to death in pvp in all foreseeable future.
The trend we always see are Warriors generally sit in the S Tier at the beginning of an expansion.
Then as the expansion goes on casters become strongest.
To this point, I can agree. Affliction and destruction were just silly to play in BG’s because you get trained into oblivion. Demonology offers options to deal with melee and survive some of their burst if you don’t mind switching specs.
