We have been suffering from disadvantages in arenas for some time. In this latest DF expansion, we came very close to being a good class because it was only missing two things: Damage and Mana.
Carter Mistweaver are healers who need to stay away from combat due to their immense susceptibility to controls and vulnerability to damage. Therefore, there is no point in buffing our melee attacks. we need ranged damage just like all other healers.
Caster mistweaver does not cause any damage and this leaves us at a huge disadvantage compared to any healer.
I’m not sure, but it seems to me that our mana maintenance has improved a little and it may no longer be a problem, but because we don’t deal damage we have to compensate by healing much more than the other healer, causing our mana to run out faster than it should.
And to make matters worse, the nerf to Life Cocoon and the nerf to revival is making the situation even sadder. our lack of usefulness in the arena, our lack of damage… We’ve been having these problems for a long time. Make no mistake, the fact that there aren’t many complaints is due to the low popularity of the class in the arena, as the MW caster has been bad since BFA and is currently the worst healer in TWW BETA in arenas.
Please reverse the nerf on Life Cocoon on PVP. This skill needs to be powerful. It’s currently so weak that DPS keeps hitting the target and the shield disappears easily. improve ranged damage ability. That’s all we need…
A suggestion for damage would be to make the Chi Burst ability viable (make it targetable, giving two charges and increasing the damage a lot since it is currently practically zero.
We know that nothing is easy when it comes to balancing, but we really need attention. We have already been rejected by other players for a long time…

Zen Spheres feel like a quick and dirty bandaid they added in DF to give damage contribution to MW (indirectly through MW’s teammates which feels a bit unsatisfying).
Now with TWW, they had time to do redesign for MW in that regard… and nothing has come out of this, outside of ChiB/ChiW being very slightly less sh*tty and we now have a talent in the class tree which gives +4% healing and… +4% magic damage dealt (lol).
I would like Zen Spheres to be removed and CJL/ChiW/ChiB significantly buffed (at least in PVP but there’s room for PvE buffs too). Additionally, having a talent that interacts with CJL damage would be nice for caster MW and thematically makes sense (similar to WW Emp Capacitor / Power of the Thunder King)
I agree with you. We need damage. Ranged in CJL, CB, CW… Anything. It is impossible to compete with a disc priest in an arena. I did some solos where the priest did 20M of damage… And I did 200k… And he attacks from afar… It doesn’t seem fair to me.
It would be one of the most exciting moments of my life if Chi Burst worked like this:
range 40M, 2 charges , Cast time: 1,5sec, skill target, Causes 200 to 300k damage.
This would be similar to the shaman’s lava burst.
Dude, the Chi Burst is a Hadouken! Everyone wants to be able to use this skill! And with that, we would be able to compete with other healers.
CB was literally set up like that during Legion (minus the 2 charges).
CW was not worth taking at all back in Legion.
Then, they decided to kill CB damage in BFA, and it remained that way until now, thus killing both options => that made taking the passive 10% healing bonus on EnvM always the best choice (it was a 3 choice node back then).
CJL was decent filler damage in Legion, somewhat less in BFA and sh*t in SL and DF (and probably TWW too).
No. It’s used in PvE the way it is currently to reset the cooldown of FLS.
Now, if there was a PvP talent that altered how it functioned, sure, but then that would call into question how undertuned it would be because you’re giving up a slot for it.
There is currently no reason to take a monk in Arena, and possibly in BGs as well with the nerfs. As it stands, we simply just do not have the damage/healing numbers to be competitive.
Every other healer can do the same/more hps, at less mana, while weaving in 10x the damage.
In BGs Monk is excellent and will continue to be the best or second best healer.
The problem is in the arena. Arena is the Core of PVP. It is in the arena that classes should be balanced. It is in the arena that the much coveted Gladiator mount is .
The championships take place in the arena.
Bgs and 2v2 are impossible to balance. It’s not meant to be taken seriously, it’s just a minigame.
Blizzard’s focus should be 100% on 3v3. And solo.
Oh, my - I never really thought about the possibilities. Honestly, I’d love to see Chi Burst turned into something like a MW “Chaos Bolt” - a big chonker of a spell, as opposed to the wet noodle that it is right now. Long cast time, healthy mana cost/CD - 2 Charges might be nice (something so it’s not spammable, basically), and big dam…
Also: I wonder if the Monk devs have considered the possibility of reintroducing Corrosive Dosage, or a Corrosive Dosage-like effect. Adding that little bit of AoE splash damage to Viv heals would be pretty welcome by most Castweavers (in both PVE and PVP) and would be a great skill to pick up for when healing melee cleaves or into melee cleaves.
yeah mw needs something, you have druids spam casting wrath for 10% of someone’s HP, while crackling jade lightning does 0.01% of someones hp per tick? make it make sense?
even fistweaver damage is exceptionally low, it gets out damaged by every other healer despite being one of the only true “deal damage to heal” type spec (disc being the other one). not to mention fistweaver gets 0% uptime into most comps so its super unfun to play unless youre playing ret/warr
instead of zen spheres being basically a passive dam boost for the team it should be reworked to be a literal zen sphere that you fire at an enemy or something.
