can we please start nerfing wizards a little bit? warlock, mage, shaman and Spriest are all insanely strong atm and honestly makes BG’s a chore to play
It’s because they get sat in arena, so they have to at least do damage when the get a tiny chance to cast.
time for separate auras in BG’s and arena coz BG’s are in a really bad spot
I would be nice sure, but blizzard barely cares about pvp and the part they care about is 3’s.
very true unfortunately
Ironic that you would post this as a ret paladin. You can spell bop into bubble into searing glare.
About the only thing on your list that should give you any real trouble are mages, especially frost.
imagine having more than 1 toon
Pvp balance at least in bgs is always going to be caster meta.
Because they don’t even take bgs into consideration when doing changes (sparing this most recent set) It’s always been designed around arena where in melee can just train a caster all game and live cause they have a healer.
Caster arena design is basically blizzard designing casters around fitting all their damage into very short windows where they either get a precog or can freecast for a few seconds. Translate that over into bgs where the caster can almost free cast all game and… oof
It is a very diferent story in bgs where ranged can usually just plant and blast completely unimpeded.
Melee unless your running in full premades like bajheera with his 3 pocket healers ontop of him the entire game its going to be a bad experience.
i put on my robe and wizard hat
Come on dudr, “you can blow two 5 min cds into glare just so you dont die in the first engagement vs pure ranged bg comps” im sure you can see how stupid that sounds.
Balancing around BGs is a fool’s errand. There are WAY too many variables to even consider to try to balance it. You say it’s a caster meta but imagine how it feels to have melee ride you ALL GAME with infinite gap closers. These days, outside of frost mage, most casters are just running, using instants and hoping to set up for a few seconds of casting. That being said, outside of some outliers, things are mostly balanced right now.
You actually need to learn the intricacies of how each caster spec functions so you can disrupt their plays accordingly. Example: If you decide to kick my fear, then you and your whole team are getting raptured. If you kick rapture, then I can’t really do much.
And complaining about all of them without even trying on one.
Casters wouldn’t be the way we are if melee weren’t the way they are.
Melee have gotten so mobile over the years that Blizzard has been force to either strip melee of mobility and utility, or give casters tools to deal big damage in short windows.
Since melee shriek and screech any time they lose mobility, we have the current design.
Blame M+ for this tbh.
Yep
Everyone needs to be fast, mobile, have burst, good utility, and self defensive options.
Not that I disagree, but the same can be said about arena.
Alright, enough with the constant whining about casters being ‘too strong’—it’s beyond old at this point. I know this is bg topic, but still a cry me a river thread about casters. When melee dominates casters, y’all don’t seem to mind. Instead of complaining, maybe focus on adapting your gameplay. Line of sight, use the pillar strategically, and time your setups depending on the comp you’re facing. Go in, blow your wad, and if you don’t secure the kill, go back to a pillar and reset—rinse and repeat.
I’m not claiming to be some god-tier player, just a humble 2.5 in Solo Shuffle. Sure, people love to say 2.4 is just ‘average,’ but this is what I experience against good melee players who know what they’re doing. And honestly, I hate it when they execute this strategy well—it works. So maybe give it a shot instead of crying about casters?
You can always tell a player has bad positioning in bgs when they say melee sucks.
I think everyone in here has utterly lost sight of the op’s post.
He’s talking about bgs where there is little to 0 Line of sight to be had and your just pretty much taking busted caster damage and just hoping your healer can handle it.
