Are taking a hit in TWW:
Well they gave us back Retribution Aura, late in DF and then took it away for TWW, so this checks out… ![]()
switch to melee heavy, monks still have 5% on theirs!
hurray
Oh man, I am 2% dumber now.
Devs could’ve at least been honest about the AI nerf and said it’s to balance Aug bc they can’t think of anything else to do yet again.
I mean this still effects quite a few melee specs, the chaos brand nerf doesn’t effect like one class and even then i am pretty sure hero talents give it magic damage.
Just the fact that there is a spell that benefits melee DPS (sunder armor) and a spell that benefits caster DPS (chaos brand) means that there WILL ALWAYS be a meta around 1 group.
Yes Raids can take and benefit from both comfortably as monks/Drude’s/warriors bring physical buff and DH bring caster buff. But when it comes to dungeons (another endgame option for smaller guilds) you will only ever have 1. So which ever tank is Meta, DH or the others, will determine which team comp is Meta. There will almost never be a time when you can benefit from both physical and caster DPS buffs in a 5 man group unless 1 person brings both buffs.
I guess what I’m saying is, maybe it’s time to get rid of both of these. Remove both versions of the debuff and let the Meta unfold around everything else. And scale boss health down 3-5 percent since we won’t have the debuff access anymore.
But, I’m also new to tanking and want my Venge DH to be an option going forward regardless of casters behind me being strong or meta
When was the last time you played a warrior?
It’s their time to shine now. Shout still 5% attack power, right? Mystic touch, 5% and Mark of the Wild is 5, or 3% ?
Chaos Brand nerf also hurts a lot of melee. Enhance, ret, frost, unholy, havoc, etc.
1.9% dumber. 2 / 105 = 0.01904. If they hadn’t taken away the 2% intellect, the math would’ve been easier.
Dear diary:
Boo hoo.
Arguably arcane intellect and chaos brand both were affecting other classes way more than any other buffs, a lot of melee only have around 20-30% of their damage that is physical. This should put them more in line with other buffs but yea casters are receiving a double time of nerfs as they scaled with both.
I think this is mainly because there are very few specs that deal pure physical, while there are a lot that deal pure magic.
This is a great change towards helping M+ group diversity.
You know what you have to do next, Blizzard: DELETE AUG.
2% will hardly be noticeable. Maybe in a raid it will be felt but in dungeons, average players won’t even know its missing. And at the highest of keys, these buffs will still be super strong.
Dps meta 3 Seasons in a row:
Mage
Shadow priest
Aug
Forums - delete Aug, mage and priests are fine.
Also VDH is the anchor carrying the meta.
The chaos brand nerf is an outrage. I scale with attack power, but I deal all holy dmg.
I don’t, my Venge DH is literally my first foray into melee let alone tanking. I’ve tried them, their just not my class.
The point was there exists a debuff the only benefits physical damage classes. Not the warrior specifically, sunder armor is just the first spell that popped into my head as reference for the interaction. I apologize if I didn’t make that clear enough. But the entire post was about their being two debuffs that work the same but effect different kinds of damage. And more than warriors offer this debuff for physical damage. All I’m saying is if Blizz wanted to rotate to a different tank leading the M+ charge they could have just said it. They didn’t need to nerf them into the dirt.
Buuuuut, I don’t push high mythic keys so the overall nerf won’t really affect me as a DH because I wasn’t going to be invited to those groups anyway, even if I still had double sigils and full Chaos Brand ![]()
With this move, it’s just obvious Blizzard doesn’t want to see those same team comps in season 1 of TWW. Which is cool, keep things spicy. But they don’t need to use backhanded tactics like this. Am I gonna reroll to a Blood DK or Drude? No, I chose Venge because I had fun with it in general. Might try PvP with it. But, my rant wasn’t about warriors. I simply used that spell because it was the first reference that popped into my head.
Orc smash!
