Was there a secret buff or something to casters? I have been doing okay healing for the first time in arena this season, but today it seemed like double caster comps were doing alooooot more dam than before…
Double caster is like at 80% DMG of double melee, or melee + hunter.

No, usually caster/caster is going to have more damage dealt than melee/melee, although it’s not ideal to generalize this is often the case. Viability/balancing aside, anyways.
25% main stat bonus is affecting casters and healers, and to a lesser extent hybrids, more than pure melee and even more so pure physical dmg dealers, because their spells dont factor weapon dmg, strictly main stat, is what people are gathering. don’t shoot the messenger

Fire mages got a “fix” that effects glass canon and ignite…ignite does SOOOOO much damage now, it needs a nerf hard.

double caster typically does like 2-2.5x the damage of double melee, the difference is that caster damage is usually passive cleave with less single target funnel
and it typically won’t have the support of a mortal strike
seasons where mage/lock have to get triple sheep triple fears to close games out are the only time double caster aren’t the absolute lowest possible skillfloor comp archtype
things like moonkin/warlock should never exist
moonkin/warlock should never do enough damage to win so it should never win a game because fear/clone share a dr and that should almost never be enough for them to close the game out
Lock’s MS helps with that but honestly I agree. I don’t think class or DR stacking to that degree should ever work.
But then that’s only true if cc is important and people have such weird mixed views on cc recently
while i want to agree comp diversity in recent years is a fraction of what it used to be… im all for more comps also lsd2.0 has been a thing forever

fear and clone are not the only cc that duo has. You are forgetting about stuns, rootbeam, and coil. They have more than enough cc to close out games. moonkin/lock has always been a solid duo especially when affliction is really good.
Im all for fast paced games, but boomy destro/ shadowplay is very overwhelming atm, most of the melee i heal zug zug into the burst and it goes right through my PS
I mean, part of it is the zuggers having to think for a second and not facetsnking everything.
If these players cant adapt in different scenarios, they deserve the rating loss.
Playing defensively is a must have skill for casters early on in the learning curve, where as ret war 1600 joes probably never would los an incoming death star nuke.
Wizards are the zuggers. W keying into triangle formation and spreading aoe on a pillar is the definition of zug.

that’s on your melee. Melee players want to be able to constantly press w at people and do damage until they die. When this doesn’t happen it’s OMG CASTER META SUCKS
