Case in point: Some people are absolutely stupid

This is the same country that started a civil war over tax on tea. Don’t know what you’re expecting.

The false bravado in this thread is amazing.

I think the 20th century will be remembered in the far future (if we’re still around) for two things: the beginning of spaceflight, and when we developed the ability to destroy ourselves. If the latter occurs, we will apparently have proven at least one resolution to the Fermi paradox: that technologically advanced(-enough) civilizations tend to self-destruct.

“At last I perceive the glint of glory within the race of man … be ever mindful of your promise of greatness! For it shall one day lift you beyond the stars or bury you within the ruins of war! The choice is yours!”

There is no bravado. I’m simply telling you people have self preservation and aren’t going to impose martial law over the sniffles.

I have major health issues. I have a tumor in my head and Ulcerative Colitis that could turn into colon cancer. I am suppose to have another MRI in May or June, but with all this damned virus scare, it may not happen.

Any of us could die tonight and it not be from that stupid corona virus. People have died and not from the virus. Doctors are using those deaths by saying they died from the virus when in fact that is false. Some people have come forward stating this too.

Shame that the population is allowing themselves to be so controlled by fear and those that play on your fears.

I’m not fearing anything. I go to the store when I have to and stay home otherwise, like I normally do. I dunno why you guys assume everyone is fearing for their life constantly. Wear the masks and stay away from people and wash your hands, everything will be fine. Frankly I’d like an excuse to avoid people anyway so this works out.

Sadly. This whole thing has a bunch of people wailing in fear.

Right. Hence the use of “false” as an adjective there.

Right. 200,000 people dropped dead in a couple of months from the sniffles. K.

There’s a ton of low-hanging fruit out there when it comes to slowing and reversing climate change, and much of it has less to do with the average individual than you might expect. One of the most obvious examples are ocean freighters, which are responsible for hundreds of thousands of times more pollution than anything you or I do (one figure I found put 15 of the largest freighters being equal to all the cars in the entire world). This isn’t out of need — there are ways to build ocean freighters that aren’t nearly as dirty — but corporations haven’t been incentivized to do so.

Now obviously this doesn’t absolve people from responsibility. There’s things we can and should do, but there’s a lot that can be done to clean things up without adversely affecting quality of life.

Alot of those didn’t die from Covid. They just had it when something else killed them. It’s asymptomatic with faulty testing. Alot more people have it than we could ever hope to know.

Nevermind 200k out of Billions?

We normally recycle all of our plastic bags, bubble wrap, etc. but since the lockdown, stores aren’t even accepting them anymore in their drop-offs. Doesn’t feel good to throw all this plastic away in the trash.

You do not have the freedom to endanger or kill other human beings. Did you hear about how NYC is digging trenches to dump the bodies in? That’s going to be everywhere if we keep being selfish.

Again, you sound pathetic using your illusion of being “a true American”.

Noones endangering or killing someone else.

Sounds like a NYC problem

Hardly. Sounds just like a major metropolis with bad health.

Again. You’re fearmongering to justify being treated like a serf.

NYC is a unique case among a generally stratified population. Most of our major cities in America are not nearly as dense as NYC. Miami isn’t, Los Angeles isn’t, etc.

We should not treat every town, county, and state as we should NYC it’s making false parallels.

Conversely, there is a very dark responsibility to exerting that level of freedom, just because it’s your right to do so.

The problem with Covid-19 is in its asymptomatic nature, and incubation period. If you get it, you may not know it for days…if at all. As you strut around declaring your freedom in the meantime, you could be passing it along to your children, siblings, parents, and friends.

Are any of them smokers? Overweight? Aged, or diabetic? Those are the people we know and love that this pandemic is killing. To save them, it’s my freedom to wander about that can sod off. It won’t be forever.

Because funerals are prohibited.

And then kept human beings as slaves. Fancy that.
