I think it’s about time Blizzard updates the group finders to have a space specifically for groups that are advertising selling carries. They’re not actioning accounts that continue to spam the premade group finder, can you at least make them their own space they can advertise and people can find. They’ve got to go one way or the other: Either action the accounts for doing it, or give them their own space. I report 20+ listings a day and they’re still there the next day.
It makes Activision money. Expect it to get worse before it gets better.
Since this has been a problem for at least 2 x-packs…I doubt Blizz is going to do anything
Thier rules were obviously for show and where never enforced
How about no?
99% of the paid carry garbage in group finder is being done by RMT sites, anyway, so it wouldn’t help if there was a safe space for paid gold carries, cause they’d just get flooded out by RMT carries.
I agree, the constant selling spam is obnoxious for what’s supposed to be a video game based on entertainment.
I get that folks like that selling market, that’s fine. Just put it in it’s own little corner so the rest of us don’t have to be constantly berated by the noise.
They already have their own space in trade chat. It doesn’t stop people from posting in LFG still. Why do you think adding another space will stop them from posting in LFG?
Not the point. We know they’re unavoidable, but they shouldn’t be listed with the regular groups.
Fancy that, trade chat being used for transaction…you know trade.
But I want to see my jokes from 2004 spammed…whaaa…haha…
‘Unavoidable’ being the operative word. Are they going to get more hits in their own sub-channel, or where everyone can see it?
or…
just report them.
i’ve reported thousands over the last week, while waiting in queue for CCC.
it’s taken a week to start seeing a small improvement in the number of adverts.
clearly people are too apathetic to report.
Either that or, it makes Activision money. What shareholder would want to put a stop to that?
I don’t know (or care), I just don’t want all that spam when I’m trying to find a key.
how are blizzard making money, when people are buying their gold from illicit sites instead of through tokens?
Buyers (i.e. the customer) are usually unskilled players, they buy tokens which then they convert to gold to pay for the carry. There’s some potential income leaked through the third party sites buying/selling gold but the token sales are what Blizzard cares about the most.
Seriously would be nice to take them all out. I usually would report like 30 before I can start looking for keys. If I could mass select them to remove them from my feed that would be nice also. Sometimes I wonder if I should treat them like scam callers and waste their time until it becomes inefficient for them to advertise
Or just less inclined (I don’t want to say lazy) to right click and report every post 1 by 1 when there’s a lot of them throughout the day.
They have accounts and players dedicated entirely to advertisment. Credit where credit it’s due they’re incredibly organized, it’s a whole mafia.
It’s absolutely terrible.
That being said…
Player A sells a carry.
Player B buys a token to buy that carry.
Blizzard just made 20 bucks, for doing nothing.
I would not expect the ads to be going anywhere soon.
not how it works.
“Player A” selling the carry, is a company.
“Player B” is …a player, who doesn’t buy tokens, they buy their gold from those farming bots which everyone complains about.
not very lucrative for blizzard.
…just for clarity, this is what the group finder looks like on alliance side.
about 6 different companies who are clearly raking in the bucks.
If carry done for in game currency (gold) then they allowed? If for real money then not.
