Carrot on a Stick, do you need?

I am a t0tal noob and blizz wont restore my Carrot on a Stick that I had disenchanted long back. Do you really need this item? I should probably reroll right?

Also, I think its funny that customer support will spend all this time chatting with me, yet cannot restore a simple item.

You can log into your account on battle.net and look for “item restoration” and possibly get it back that way.

Otherwise, it’s nice to have but not necessary.

NEED? No, it’s a minor speed bump. Hardly game changing.

I would say you need in certain situations. Let’s say you are being chased by a gank squad of horde and they are tryhards. They are 100% going to switch to carrot on a stick or/and mithril spurs to catch you. I do this every single time I am chasing someone down and I always catch them unless they are wise and do the same.

So, if you’re okay with the fact that your character will never have that opportunity, sure, you can play without it…

That would drive me absolutely nuts though to know I had no way to truly get away/escape from someone who was conscious of the situation though.

If you take your death like a… you won’t need the carrot… You’ll not notice the difference anyway.

the only thing carrot on a stick is used for is AV battleground…

you can make it to a couple areas faster or possibly get away from pursuers.

You would reroll for a trinket?

Or to run down that alliance scum bag that is trying to get away.

As a force of habit I always use carrot on a stick while mounted, but I honestly don’t notice the difference. I mean 3% mount speed is negligible. If you’re L60 and don’t have it anymore, it’s not really an issue.

It has extremely minute niche usefulness in PvP, but it’s no big deal without it.

Define “long back”. Item logs only go back 30 days. Past that, there is no record maintained. As such they cannot restore items past that point. That said, it isn’t a big deal as it is just a QoL thing when riding long distances. Most of the time you will have pvp and dps trinkets equipped instead.

It’s one of those iconic items, but not used enough in my opinion to completely reroll a character.

Although it sits in my bags along with mithril spur boots and mount speed enchanted gloves; I don’t equip them too often. Just in very few scenarios that others have posted already.

When AB/AV comes out, it will be great to have, but spurs and enchant should be good enough to keep up without a large noticeable drop compared to others who equip all three.

Edit; I should mention I sometimes feel the need to bank it. I’m an engineer and never considered just how many trinkets/bombs I’d be carrying all the time. Along with some PvP gear (Agi+Stam rather than Agi/damage/hit only) added to the mix, extra bag space grows more appealing to me.

Mount speed enchant
Riding spurs
Trinket

All add up to move faster. Missing one isn’t the end of the world though.

I was about to vendor this thing because ItemRack was buggy and I kept leaving it in for extended period of times

and now that someone told me about AutoCarrot (which isn’t on Twitch), I am glad I didn’t

It’s 3 percent flawlessly executed additional mount speed – and who wouldn’t want that. Also I think the addon works with the other speed enchants too so I might have to increase it even more.

In Wpvp, it’s pretty game-changing.

Yes, for PVP you will want a ‘riding set.’

Get a second set of boots and put Mithril Spurs on them. Get a second set of gloves and put Riding Skill on them. And equip your Carrot. Combine these with a epic mount and woah daddy you go fast!

Use an addon like ItemRack to quickly switch in and out of your riding set.

Does The Pally talent, Pursuit of Justice, stack with these other ride-speed enhancements?

Increases movement and mounted movement speed by 8%. This does not stack with other movement speed increasing effects.

Right…how dare CS try to get to the bottom of your issue that you purposely caused regardless of if they can help you or not.

Just use mithril spurs and mount speed to glove enchant. Carrot is nice but it’s not the end of the world.
Being said, I have a riding set I equip every time I’m on my mount and it’s noticeable in wpvp where you might be chasing someone. Also big for mining/herb
