We should have a race of anthropomorphic capybaras.
Their culture should be inspired by Brazil.
FAQ:
What’s a capybara?
- Semi-aquatic giga-hamster from south america.
Are they friendly?
- They are the friendliest.
Why are you proposing this idea?
- I like capybaras. They are cute and chill.
What’s the lore?
- Probably standard “we found a new landmass no one had ever heard of before and these people were living there” stuff.
I saw a capybara in the wild, can I pet it?
- No. Capybaras may be chill, but they are still wild animals. Worst case scenario, you may be bitten by a cayenne tick and catch spotted fever, which is a very serious disease.

I don’t really see this becoming a possibility but compared to your normal threads I give this idea two enthusiastic thumbs up.

Like most life native to Central and South America the capybara has been very busy heading north and crossing the Rio Grande, normally through the wilderness. They are accomplished swimmers and diggers.
In Texas they pay people to drive around at night in a pickup with a searchlight and a rifle to pick off as many of them as they can. Crazy as it sounds, Americans will take that job.
EDIT: Fun fact! You can milk the little buggers. You can have your own Capybara Dairy Farm. Although you would need to find some people with tiny little hands to do the milking. I’m seeing a win-win here.

Just sounds mean, adopt the giant guinea pig, don’t SHOOT the poor things!

You don’t want to know the things I heard when adopting my dog from there. /sad face
But gives an interesting twist if they became a race for the milking part. Someone better warn the gnomes.

Once you add a race its no longer cute and harmless, they become killers like the rest of us.
In Azeroth we pay 15 bucks a month to kill anything that walks or crawls, and each other too.

Deal, but their women have to be built like absolute brick houses.

There’s a Capybara Cafe in Florida where you can snuggle with the cute critters and feed them.

I’m always gonna be surprised we don’t have a rodent/rabbit race that is playable.
I guess Kobolds exist, but they’re more like rats than anything else, and certainly aren’t playable.
I played a Ratonga back in Everquest 2 lol, as a kid.
Even FF14 has that rabbit race, the Viera, although the males are similar to Blood Elves here in WoW- definitely have that ‘twink boy’ factor about them. And the females are giants, like Amazonians.
They’re also kinda like Harpies in WoW, where only the females existed for years, and then males were finally added later.
In the lore, male harpies supposedly exist in WoW. At least it’s rumored. Probably like female orges lol.
Similar to how we got male Succubi in, what Legion or so?
They might add them some day. Not a big deal, though, I like Harpies as they are lol.

It is mean. Anyway that you look at that one, it sucks. They are protected in Brazil though.
It turns out that on Earth the entire ‘resurrection’ thing turned out to be a one-time deal at best.

I think we’re good with furry races in this game, anymore it’ll become World of AnimalCraft.
Horde is becoming a zoo faction.
YES! Along with Duck Allied race.
WoW is definitely NOT good with the animal races. The problems include and range from Dracthyr having wimpy, non commonly available dragon skulls, pandaren women having non-ursine faces and missing digits, to worgen males having collapsing legs, when just looking at any digitigrade animal would tell them that their legs aren’t bent at 90* where the talus connects to the tibia/fibula.
