It’s weird because I ran with this hunter in a dungeon and they were pulling 800k dps on bosses while I was doing 500k on my frost DK but I was hitting 1-2 million dps on trash packs while they were hitting like 6-700k.
I loved playing BM in Dragonflight and wanted to continue but do they not understand their AE needs help? It seems very evident to someone that isn’t even playing the class right now much less people that actually work on the dang game.

I had a frost DK yesterday do about 2.5 times my hunters damage in a heroic but he was over 15 ilevel below me.

And then go to the boss and still do 800k single. Bm isn’t even close. One wildfire bomb is more damage than a bm rotation.
If you choose to only play BM you don’t get to complain.
Survival will still be declined over other melee classes still. Hunters don’t bring enough utility to make them win a spot over a Rogue or Death Knight. Traps are just ignored by tanks who pull everything, or constantly keep moving so it pointless to use crowd control.
Damage can only carry a spec so far when you have more options that other classes can give. I would like if Aspects could be given an overhaul that can add buffs to groups, so if the group was missing one Hunters could provide it. Like having Aspect of the Fox that gave casters the ability to move while casting, or Aspect of the Pack to give groups a speed boost.
The main reason Hunters are brought along is we have Heroism, but we had much more at one point. We could revive dead players. Now we are down to one ability for groups. There’s so much more that could be done with Hunters if Blizzard wanted to take the time to invest in them.
Yeah my fresh Warrior friend item level 550 finished a heroic dungeon at 600k, my BM is 580 item level, and I finished at 480k. 30 item levels lower and doing over 100k more, something is wrong with BM AoE.

Need the Hunting Pack PvP talent (50% CD reduction on Aspect of the Cheetah + Allies within 15 yards gain Aspect of the Cheetah as well) to be moved to the Class talent tree.
I enjoy ranged combat with pets, what other choice do I have? Marks plays with no pet and surv melees neither of which I find enjoyable or can get behind thematically, If I have to play an entire different class something is horribly wrong and needs to be looked at

Not every spec is going to be strong in all content all the time.
BM has been stronger in aoe that it has.
Does it need some help? Sure but it should never be doing more aoe than mm or survival.
You play a hunter. If you restrict yourself to one spec that’s your decision.
It’s not even so much that it’s weaker than the other hunter specs.
as bm aoe is weaker than literally everybody, in heroic dungeons both dps and the tank out perform me and about 60% of the time so does the healer. I am usually at the bottom of all 5 people in the dungeon for aoe and not close either I am talking significantly behind.
I find it hard to believe our aoe is this bad and it’s exactly how they want it, it seems to be it almost has to be a bug of some sort
