Can't Use Greater Trophy of Conquest

I’ve picked up a couple Greater Trophies of Conquest and would like to use one as an optional component to craft gear.

In addition to all of the required materials, I also have Sparks of Shadowflame as one of the components.

For the optional components, I do not have an option to select the Greater Trophy of Conquest, even though it is sitting in my inventory, right next to the other components. I can’t drop it on the recipe, and there doesn’t seem to be any other way to add it.

I’ve tried different pieces of gear and Wowhead indicates that these can be used for crafting with them.

I am trying to submit orders at the crafting station in Valdrakken: is this not the way to use them?

Has anyone else ran into this? I feel like I’m missing something simple.
Any suggestions?

What slot are you trying to use with it?

optional crafting reagent that can craft epic items located at the hands, waist, shoulders, and feet slots

Are you using it with gear that fits the right category be ause there is a few different ones for different gear types and also I don’t think those would work on blues or greens, just a guess.

I have tried using it to craft an Allied Heartwarming Fur Coat.
According to Wowhead, it should work:

I’ve tried a few other pieces of gear as well. The Greater Trophy of Conquest is in my inventory and I can move it from bag to bag, but as far as crafting goes, it never comes up as an option.

Not sure what is missing.

Same here. I have two in my bags, a Trophy of Conquest, and a Greater Trophy of Conquest, and neither of them have been usable for crafting, all the way up to 447, for any patch. I can only use a LESSER trophy of Conquest and a new craft or recraft, so while I have two in my bags, i still have to go buy a lesser one for conquest points. It makes no sense.

Ilev shouldn’t matter, nor should embellishment on gear. It’s just a matter of slot, like the greater trophy is used for 875 pieces aka helm, chest, etc.

There’s no weapon trophy which I think was an issue people were having at one point.
