Just made a new character, wanted to try warrior this expansion, and for some reason I can’t enter Edit Mode. I don’t know why this would be.
Install bartender. Edit mode is kinda trash even if it did work. Sad but true.
have you tried a UI reset?

Yes. I did all that, went through the standard trouble shooting. The only thing I haven’t done is a reinstall. However, looking online I see this is a common issue if you go through Exile’s Reach.
is it possible there are aspects of the tutorial which could be blocking functionality?
Probably, that’s why I posted on the Bug Report. Hopefully they fix that.

Are you in Exile’s reach on the new character? It doesn’t work until you are done for whatever reason, but if you want to use it in the meantime I had seen another post about a workaround awhile back:

i have a bunch of addons which i would cry without 
…bartender was one of them, until the changes to the UI made it pointless.
i’m glad to be free of it
