Can't upgrade pvp gear without Runed Harbinger Crests

Thank you, Blizz… I can no longer upgrade my pvp gear because you’ve gatekept the upgrade system with the currency requirements of Runed and Gilded Harbinger Crests which – I have just learned – only come from the Raids and M+. So unless I commit myself to the toxic scrutiny of grouping with those types of people (which is why I became a pvper in the first place) I can no longer upgrade my pvp gear. Now… why do I care? Because I am capping on Valorstones, and the only way to spend them is to upgrade my gear. I cannot transfer valorstones to another character because that’s how you’ve designed the game. Now… not to sound crass or sassy but… Why are you like this?

They could easily solve this by making PvP gear automatically apply its PvP ilvl in outworld content when Warmode is enabled.

It used to be like that, in Shadowlands.

Gilded crests do drop from PVP. Any wins over 2100 in any bracket.

There’s no toxicity in PVP?

Hey now, you can’t expect people to take 5 seconds to Google a currency.

they are the toxic in pvp, which is why they dont see it.

Who cares about Valorstones if you aren’t doing anything where you would want to upgrade gear anyway?

But OP can upgrade their PvP gear they just need to do rated. They can go to 619 in PvE. Potentially higher if they go high enough.

My guess is they just do random so they were unaware.

That changed. PvP ilv outside of pvp isn’t determined by rating anymore.

Yes but the rating you are at determines the level of crests that are obtained from Rated PvP.

We also get Enchanted Runed Harbinger Crests from Renown. So that’s four right there.

Ahh misunderstood what they were asking.

It still caps out at heroic you cant farm mythic…less its beyond 2500?

Gilded is from Duelist+, but you can’t use those to upgrade PvP items as the OP is seeking since those cap out at 619, champion track.

Crests now drop from Rated PvP activities. Weathered Harbinger Crests are now rewarded by Combatant 1 activities. Carved Harbinger Crests are now rewarded by Combatant 2, Challenger 1, and Challenger 2 activities. Runed Harbinger Crests are now rewarded by Rival 1 and Rival 2 activities. Gilded Harbinger Crests are now rewarded by Duelist and Elite activities.

I’d see little reason for it unless they lucked out in terms of stat weight. My PvP set sucks for me in PvE because vers is our worst stat.

But yeah a Duelist WW Monk would be eating well or maybe a highly rated BG FC tank.

They rarely think things all the way through.
And you never get used to that.
It always feels to me like flawed development
is their way of reminding us that they don’t
really care about anything, as long as we keep
paying them.
