Okay, I’ve tried every suggestion I’ve seen to this point but I figure I’ll see if maybe I missed something. I’m trying to reinstall the game after a long absence to check it out again. The last time I played was early on during Dragonflight. I haven’t resubbed yet, because I want to make sure I can actually play the game before I do that. I go to update, and it sticks at “Initializing.”
It’ll VERY slowly download a portion of the 560MB update, then at some point give me an error and just stop. I’ve removed download limits. I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled both WoW and the Battlenet launcher about 2-3 times now. I haven’t reset my modem/router because I have zero problems with ANYTHING else (it’s also in a weird spot that’s kind of a pain to get to). Does anyone have ANY other suggestions I could try?
Not knowing what you may have tried already, I would suggest things you may or may not have tried. Knowing if there were any codes might help further. Otherwise there is the self help system.
Might also help to know if any security software on your system might be hampering your updates, as sometimes they do get a bit overzealous in blocking software updates.
Thanks! I don’t think I’ve tried this yet, so I’ll give it a shot. Just got the error again, too, and followed the link it gave me (I didn’t notice a link before, but that’s probably just me not paying enough attention haha).
Appreciate the suggestions, hopefully I can get this working.
Update: I’ve tried following the steps in the article linked to, and also the steps given for error code BLZBNTAGT0000138F. Nothing has helped. I have no problems with anything else, so I’m not sure why I’m specifically having a problem installing/updating WoW.
