so i was about to make a new character today [my main was horde dk] when i see “mechagnomes” it says i need to complete The Mechagonian threat achievement, which for whatever reason I had already completed [as horde] from grinding the Mechanocat mount. upon further research I read that it is alliance only. so, i faction change to alliance on my main because i have no other alts. u pop up in stormwind and go to the embassy and click on mechagonian flag and it says its available but still wont work. most forums say i need to unlock the location again but when i go to Boralus to pick up the quest “The Wolf’s Offensive” but he does not give that quest. any info would help :]
See if Gila Crosswires in inside the Embassy near the door. She has a quest that lets you skip right to the Mechagon unlock bypassing Naz’jatar and such. (Give her a couple seconds to phase in.)
If that’s not the case, then the faction change may be messing with stuff.
First, make sure you actually completed the full Mechagonian Thread achievement. The last step was a dungeon quest, which you didn’t need for any of the other grinds in Mechagon. (There’s now a skip option on the NPC to autocomplete the quest and skip the dungeon.)
Then, I’d head both to the Harbormaster’s Office and the boat to see if there are any quests available. (“What you may regret” shouldn’t be necessary, so you should be able to ignore that one if it’s an option.)

the only person you can interact with inside storm wind embassy is Aysa Cloudsinger and she has nothing for me. when i switched to alliance that is where i went first and she gave a quest that “introduced me” to the different races where i had to click on each of the races flags in the room but I had already done that and on the mechagnome flag it says i completed the achievements and i double checked i have machagonian threat completed and I had done the dungeon as well for fun while grinding the mount. i kind of gave up finding the skips so im already at the quest “uniting Kul tiras” its just super lame i have to do everything again there were no skip options its quite frustrating, especialy right after I went through days of trying to figure out how to even unlock mechagon in the first place lol

also just noticed that in the stormwind keep[not the embassy] there are 2 quests available, one is “Twilight Shores” and the other is “The Kings Command”. might those have something to do with unlocking Gila Crosswires maybe? I am desperate XD
I believe there is a 24-72 hour lockout once you change factions. The game has to update everything to your current faction.
Unfortunately, faction changes are weird, especially with BfA where the two factions had completely different leveling. Hopefully Uniting Kul Tiras gets thing unlocked and moving again.
Neither of those quests are involved. One is to start Twilight Highlands (Cataclysm) and the other is to start Mists of Pandaria.

I hope it works. If not then it’s incredibly buggy as a lot of other things right now.

rediscovered machagon, completed intro quests
completed “urgent care” quest
logged out to create a new character, it says i need to complete mechagonian threat and to go to the stormwind embassy to unlock the race, but again, i have the achievement done already and there is nobody at the embassy.
i dont think i unlocked world quests for mechagon if thats needed but when i saw the urgent care quest i thought i was about to get it and still nothing 
This is the start of the Mechagnome unlock. Were you able to get the follow up “Waning Energy”? You don’t need to start at the Embassy at that point, you’re already on the unlock chain.
