Can't uninstall Overwolf or Curseforge

You mean Task Manager? And no, it’s not there. There are options in Curseforge you can set to close Overwolf completely when Curseforge is closed.

That is because you didn’t pick a settings to close Overwolf if you exit Cursed Forge. Click the “cog icon” at the bottom, and the first section is

“When I close CurseForge” - Select the buttom option, Exit CursedForge and Overwolf. Using this option I have verified in the task manager that both are closed when I exit Cursed Forge.

Therein lies the problem.

We don’t want the framework, we want the addon manager.

The developer is making a 2.0 version, people say it’s much better than current version

Isn’t Overwolf intending to block wowup?

Nope. Overwolf had some conversations with WoWup and Ajour. Everything is staying as is for now and they’re going to continue to work as normal.

Hrm…not a good sign.

Boot into safe mode and do the uninstall there is what I would suggest.

Overwolf falls into the category of not being ‘technically’ malware but in practical terms it actually is. Do yourself a favour and switch to wowup.io

nice, I’ll hold out as long as I can

Wait is this really true? Second time I heard this but have seen no sauce. As long as overwolf is not running while im playing I dont care about it but its always nice to have options.

I’ve not had any problems with CurseForge since I started using it. Does what I need, nice and simple. It’s fine by me.

There were posts on Ajour’s and WoWup’s blogs or whatever those were. People posted links to them here on the forums. But I’m too lazy to find them for you, because there are just way too many of these types of threads to sift through. lol

You can close it after you finish updating, just like the Twitch updater. Just make sure you configure it correctly to shut down both CursedForge and Overwolf in the Setttings.

Yeah thats one of the first things i did. I only open it to update stuff and once im done it gets closed. Did the same thing with twitch.

Uninstalled overwolf

There is a clearly marked option in Overwolf that says “close Overwolf when Curseforge is closed.” Just check the box.
