Can't turn in 'Captain Jack's Dead' quest

I can’t turn in this quest.
The Hozen are aggressive & from all the off site forums (because of course, Blizzard offers no clear directions, or advice to find the problem(s) there’s no answer of where the chain starts.

I’ve flown throughout the Jade Forest with the “show trivial quests” setting on & can’t find anything that was “missed” presuming this alt did any of them, which I believe should still show up, as they did with other alts & my main.

I’ve never had this prob with the numerous other characters, or with this one on any other quests.

I did read something about Blizzard somehow breaking the game in regard to the accumulated rep. with the HOZEN in M.o.P. but I don’t think this character ever started to gain that rep. as it is not even shown in the character window under the various factions for M.o.P. reputation(s).

So where would this begin, or how can I check if I did the first M.o.P. quest? It seems I remember going there, via the portal, without accepting the first quest that puts you on the airship, several times and was able to subsequently still pick up other initial quests, but again I either did them all, or can’t do them now.

The rep issue from MoP was that if you didn’t have the (no defunct) rep bonus guild perk, you came up short of exalted. It didn’t really affect anything other than annoying people who like bars filled up. (Its me. I’m people.)

When you go to the portal in Jade Forest is there an NPC yelling at you to get back to the airship? If you haven’t completed (or started) the MoP intro, they’ll port you up to the ship to get it going. (You can also try to find The Art of War or Warchief’s Command Jade Forest on a board to start the zone.)

Otherwise, you’re just going to have to track down where the character left off. Wowpedia’s zone storyline page will have the threaded quests listed so you can try and walk through the chain to figure out where you left off.
