Hello! I have currently made 2 pandaren hunters in order to tame Zhao-Ren but on both characters I am unable to. It says that I require the Tome in order to tame him. To my understanding this isn’t supposed to happen due to the fact that other players have been able to do it.
I think that was changed I think you still need the Tome
The tome is account-wide, so as long as one of your characters, even if it’s a non-hunter, are exalted with the Order of the Cloud Serpent, you’ll be able to tame it. I thought Pandas didn’t need to use the tome but maybe they changed it.
That’s what I thought. Most of the places where I have read about this refers that Pandaren Hunters don’t need the Tome (which I don’t have yet) to tame them . Haven’t found yet where it’s said that it has been changed.
On wowhead and petopia it says that Pandas innately know how to tame them, but other races need the tome, so I am not sure why it won’t work.
This is what I found as well. Hence the confusion as to why it is not working.
Is the tame higher lvl than the Hunters? This is about the only thing I can think of.
This was a similar point brought in a discussion I found about this topic from about year ago and someone did it at lvl 12 (which I was when I attempted both times), but despite that it wouldn’t let me tame it. This problem is also happening to players with the Tome bound in their accounts specifically for Zhao Ren and some of the Pandaria serpents
