Hey, I’m doing the early part of the Onyxia attunement questline where you have to get advice from Katrana Prestor and then turn it back in to Bolvar (The True Masters). However, she’s not interactable at all - can’t speak to her and clicking her just gives a random NPC ‘need help?’ voice line.
I’ve waited here for 20 mins, noone else is in the keep, I’ve tried abandoning the quest and picking it up again as well as logging out for some time and back in, but she’s not interactable with at all. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
Update: I layer switched with help from a guildie and it worked immediately. Seems like she’s broken in one specific layer.
Yea, I encountered the same bug. I layered to a different Katrana in order to speak with her.
Seriously? Layering fixed the bug? Ah well, here we go then.

it is most likely because someone has triggered the Bolvar (sp) part where he walks from the front of SW thru to the keep, and confronts her. I think Prestor locks out while thats happening.

Well, if it’s the only way to complete the quest, then it’s hardly an exploit. It’s a bandage. Obviously the issue needs to be addressed by the bug chasers.
back in vanillaaa we had to wait 2 hours for katrina to unbug none of that easy layering you young ones have

Katrina was never as bugged in vanilla as she is now.
There are some quest RP conditions that prevent her from being talked to. One being that if anyone is escorting Windsor through Stormwind that she will be waiting to react to his arrival. You can talk to her once she respawns after fading away as Onyxia.
She’s not bugged at all. When someone is doing the escort from the gates of SW, you can’t talk to her. It’s been that way from the beginning.
No, it is bugged. Sometimes she is standing right there, but cannot be spoken to, despite there being no simultaneous escort going on.
Some players have reported relogging fixes it, some have swapped layers.
