Can't switch to Direct X 11

So I run WoW on pretty lame all-in-one computer with a Intel(R) HD Graphics 610. For some reason it seems like the game is forcing me to play in Direct x 12. When I switch to Direct x 11, it says ‘restart client’ but even after restarting nothing changes and I cannot go into full screen mode.

Oddly this is also applying to physics, I can’t seem to change that setting, it simply asks for a restart and then does nothing for me.

I’m just trying to get what life I can out of this computer, I’ve tried going into the config, and adding lines to the battle.net launcher but it’s been no dice from that. Please help . D:

Hey, Nicholes! Would you happen to try the commandline to manually change it to Dx11?

  1. With the Battle.net desktop app opened and WoW selected click on Options
  2. Select Game Settings
  3. Find WoW and check the box for Additional command line arguments
  4. In the new box enter the command for DirectX 11 version:

-d3d11

  1. Click Done to save.

Do other settings reset after logging out? If it does, try the following steps on this article and ensure the World of WarCraft folder is not set to Read-only.

  1. Right-click on your World of Warcraft folder
  2. Select Properties
  3. Uncheck Read-only
  4. Click the Apply button
  5. Make sure that “Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files” is selected
  6. Click OK

Thought they got rid of true full screen mode entirely, not just for DX12.

You saved me! Thank you sooooo much!
