Edited for clarification: I was initially angry when I realized I wasn’t allowed to use Blizzard’s built-in function to stream WoW to facebook because I also listened to music in the background while playing.
As per FB policy, they block my ability to stream anymore. So it feels like I’m being put in time-out which is something that I wholeheartedly find insulting.
I have like 3 friends on facebook so it’s not exactly like I have some conspiratory ill intent here.
So regardless of if it’s a FB or a Blizzard problem, I think people like me could benefit by having an added in feature that will only allow sounds coming from the actual game (and not any background or windows sounds).
I don’t think that’s terribly unreasonable. But that’s my opinion.
Below is my original post that I won’t delete or change so I can perhaps remain intellectually honest in this discussion. And maybe you can all scrutinize me for my inappropriate outburst of anger.
I am confused, how is this Blizzard’s fault again? They are not the ones blocking you from streaming to Facebook and they are not responsible for you playing music in the background. There are tons of stream on Twitch and YT that some how manage this without too much trouble.
I’m using the built in battle.net feature to stream to facebook. I think they should add an option to only allow sounds coming from the game itself (wow.exe) so that facebook doesn’t get its jimmies in a bunch.
Then you are requesting a new feature. Perhaps you probably shouldn’t blame Blizzard for your mistakes next time? They didn’t put you “in a time out”, Facebook did because you broke their rules.
Odd that Facebook is so up tight over this. I have watched streams on Twitch were viewers can submit songs that are played during the stream.
I was unaware that it was a facebook problem, that was my mistake. I just noticed that I got an error and couldn’t do it. You’re right.
I do think it should be a feature that you can add though because I’m obviously disappointed that I can’t do anything because of facebook policy. That’s on me.
But do yall think that it’s a good idea to block other sounds as an option? I think so.
