Can't start "The Missing Fleet"

2 questions actually.

Question 1) Taelia has nothing to say to me about starting this quest. Why?

Question 2) WTF is the problem with Blizzard putting brick walls in the way of essential content? NPC could tell me why I can’t begin the quest line. Or Blizzard could have a step by step guide. Or there could be clear comprehensible instructions somewhere for people that want it. For people that consider this a fun time, gameplay, challenging etc, then go knock yourself out. It’s not gaming to me. I realize there are 30 various requirements for pathfinder, but the interdependencies and pre-requisites are ambiguous as possible. Same as the information.

Research on forums, internet, wowhead, youtube, reddit, for an hour a day is not gameplay. It is not gameplay. It is not fun. It is frustrating to the extreme. I mean here I am, I have an entire day that I could maybe work on pathfinder but (*&$# no. Instead I am forced to decipher ambiguous information and plod along in the dark on a given requirement at random, hoping that it will unlock the next requirement instead of turning out to be SURPRISE it is locked behind some requirement, but no **** clue what it is.

Logging out for the day. (&#$& you blizzard, I know you don’t GAF and will prove it by silencing me on forums instead of considering maybe a FIFTEEN YEAR VETARAN that has finally blown a gasket maybe has earned some equity and consideration.

So… wtf do I need to do next, and

Do you have the quest in your log but are unable to start the first objective?
Because AFAIK you literally just go to the ferryman on the pier and talk to him to go over to the monastery with Taelia. Don’t do it from the water, she has to be standing by you to get the option and she won’t go swimming with you.

If you don’t even have it, you have to choose Stormsong on the Scouting Map in the Harbormaster’s Office. That’s the thing that starts the chain.

Frankly, this quest isn’t hard to figure out. It’s not hidden. It’s not gated by any real requirements. You shouldn’t need to research for this unless it’s outright bugged, which I doubt.

The Scouting Map does nothing at all either.

All ya gotta do is start the quest on the scouting map. If its not there then restart the game or put in a ticket

It’s cause the fleet isn’t missing. You burned it so you wouldn’t have to go back home

Took 2 mins to find on google when I had issue… Good luck

I logged out and in. I exited the game. I abandoned the quest and reacquired. The map does not open up. Taelia does not offer quest. She doesn’t appear by the ferry. The ferry guy does not offer a ride to the temple. I don’t have any quests in my log in Stormsong Valley. Partially completed Tiraguard sound & Tiraguard sound loremaster. Nothing else in my log.

I gave up on it. Decided to run some LFR to familiarize myself with BfA raids. (eligible only since 2 days ago) So I ran through a few LFRs and logged out for the day. Came back this morning and guess what? NOW the map is clickable. Bugged? Idk, but I didn’t do anything other than raid, pretty sure that had nothing to do with it. No message from bug report or anything so IDK.

The snarky comment about google was not helpful. Did I mention I’ve been doing this for 15 years? As if ‘Oh, I had no idea there was a google that might be helpful.’ :confused: is that what you think? Why do people post just for the purpose of insulting someone who is asking for help?

Imo, with 10,000 quests in the game there really needs to be something like a tree that shows what I’ve done and what I haven’t.

This does not show a tree, but it is very usefull in showing what quests you have and have not done

I’m having this issue now, trying to do questing in a group and everyone else is on the quest as needed but I can’t find Taelia anywhere or click on the scouting map to go anywhere… If the solution is just “wait until the server hiccups” I’m gonna cry.

My shaman can’t complete the Legion intro scenario. Apparently that broke a month ago, has been reported, and well, it still has not been fixed. I fear these issues are just very low priority because it’s not current content. There’s probably no alternative to just waiting.

Uh. Why did we necro a thread from 2019? Any information in this thread is most assuredly out of date.

I haven’t done it before on a Horde character, so the skip isn’t available.

I googled the exact problem OP was having and only found this. What should I have done, posted a [Duplicate] and got told to search first? >.<

Actually? Yes. Posting a new thread regarding the question and getting updated information is the proper thing to do in this situation, not necro a 4 year old thread with misinformation / outdated information in it.
