Sounds like the automated report process has disabled friendly fire.
I reported some. Then got in game male from Blizzy Blizz aka Blizzard that read

And then it went on talking about that. And next day…oh my goodness… the area I had reported them in…they were all gone, removed even from my friends list I had used to track them…oh but…they all got replaced a couple days later. Reporting bots is about as effective as trying to get rid of an entire ant colony by killing one at a time.
And btw, I only reported the bots getting in the way of my gameplay. Some realms out there the bots are kinda needed cuz who else is going to stock AH up with all the matts we need for our crafting proffs. Most players do not have the time to do that.
I would rather buy bot farmed matts in the Ah than have no matts to buy. So yea it’s a little bit of a trade off there. Not saying the bots are good, but on some Classic realms, the AH would literally be dead without them. That is an absolute fact, Blizzard knows this as well. That’s why they aren’t sweeping through with Warden every single day to clear out all the bots.
