So it seems like everyone keeps saying “this is normal” “this is what all launches are like”, but is this something we’re okay with? This is a paid service, and therefore the downtime is money that is directly out of our pockets. Should we be refunded for this time? Just seems messed up for Blizz to be like “Oops, didn’t know so many people would be logging on, thanks for the free money tho!”

I wish I could get a refund not only can you not play when you do get in you find out that your UI is back to default and all your saved ones are erased as well.

It’s not the amount of people. The servers can handle the amount of people that want to play.
They can’t handle them all rushing in all at once.

Oops! Downtime is factored into your monthly fee, which hasn’t increased since 2004! But hey, maybe they’ll toss you that nickel.
Joking aside, if these issues last for over a day or so, there may be some sort of compensation offered but you’d just have to wait and see. I think the last time there was game time given during a launch was WoD but don’t quote me on that.

i dont care about the money. getting behind in this game is really hard come back from. i hate this situation as much as i hate the fact that they allow anything other than internal beta testing–unfair advantage

I seem to remember them giving a few cents in a refund at some point back in WOTLK
In vanilla they gave quite a bit of free gametime, but things were down for days sometimes.

I demand my 5 cents, It’s not about it being only 5 cents it’s the fact of morals, trash game, indie company that cannot launch a game that’s been out for almost 2 decades, anyone that disagrees with me is wrong, and your just angry because you know i’m right in saying this billion dollar company cannot figure out how to properly run a game after almost 2 decades of being given a chance, Blizzard should rebrand, and teach other 40 year old dudes how to sexually harass woman like they have for the past 18 years within the dirty walls of blizzard entertainment instead of working on the game and how to improve it.
