You aren’t losing money because you’re not spending on polishing up your gear. You’re about 15k short on gems and enchants alone. Apparently your ret spec has different gear that is equally unfinished.
Come on back when you craft some gear and we’ll pick up the conversation.
I wanted to edit this because it sounded like a dig, and it wasn’t supposed to. Your prog proves you don’t need the gear, just that perhaps if you did buy those thing you might feel the pinch.

I have a concept that won’t get an upvote that I think might be underrated but important… join a guild… a big guild. We have feasts galore from those of us that DON’T like M+ or raids but do like helping others and providing them to guildmates that entertain us and enjoy some company chatting on Discord while dungeoning. Also, in a large guild like ours, we donate to the guild funds for repairs to be used AND have alchemists making flasks… ZERO cost to you, just some of your time being friendly with others. Maybe try it sometime - it’s better to play together in Azeroth! Enjoy - PS, guild is Miners Unlimited if you want to join.
The amount of whining within the player base today is comical. Amazingly they still play. LoL

Meh the crafted system I find too cumbersome to bother with.
You are right on my prot and holy enchants. I don’t see a point of buying the top chants for non bis. I don’t even play ret soooo definately not chanting that. All of that said I wouldn’t really feel the pinch as 15k is nothing right now… I’m just a cheapo that likes playing the AH.
Despite your qualms with the OP, folks… ~50g out of the chest of a TIMED M+ aint it fam.
I believe COMPLETING a key should yield you a staggered amount of money based on the key level… so for example:
M+0 = 300g
M+2 = 400g
M+3 = 500g
M+4 = 600g
M+5 = 700g
M+6 = 800g
M+7 = 900g
M+8 = 1000g
M+9 = 1100g
M+10 = 1200g (continues onward)
And so on… and if you TIME IT… then add 50% to these totals.

Pick one specialty in one profession. Something easy, like crafting profession items, or rings and necks in JC. Put all of your points in that one avenue. Let’s say you’re an enchanter, and you are making profession items. Make 5 or so of each, list them in the AH for 24 hrs, and check on them the next day. It’s not hundreds of thousands a day, but assuming you stay aware of your craft cost and have high resourcefulness (you can get a blue quality crafting tool and have resourcefulness put on it as a customization, and then enchant it for more resourcefulness), you’ll pull in some decent gold with minimal effort.
Edit; it will be tempting to list for 4,000 gold when that’s the going price and your crafting cost is only 500 gold, just keep in mind the higher you price, the more the bots/gougers start listing. Staying a few hundred gold above craft cost is fine for just trying to make some side cash without having to make it a job.
As much as you probably don’t want to do it there ARE world quests up on the map more often than not that give 800ish gold. You could do those on your main and a few alts every few days and it would help with gold. Sure it’s not fun, but it is free gold.

Beledar’s Bounty are 10g89s on Illidan at moment versus 123g for the Jester’s board. Not sure if your server is the same, but I highly recommend the bounty to save money.

If you want the highest chance of success you use it. Deaths are not so uncommon, loosing food buff because of random dead at the start is bad.
