mk, so there is a quest to unlock Western Mac’Acree World Quests but it requires you to obtain the The Crest of Knowledge after having killed L’ura in the dungeon Seat of the Triumvirate Knowledge but I already did a world quest today to kill L’ura in the dungeon Seat of the Triumvirate Knowledge meaning that I can’t obtain it. I looked it up and it shows people looting it from L’ura, but my quest log says “Slay L’ura and retrieve the Crest of Knowledge.” so that probably means that you have to loot it but I dunno. So I was wondering if I could get it otherwise. Any leads would be helpful.
You don’t have to do the dungeon quest to unlock MacAree WQs. You used to have to, but not any more. That is now just an optional quest off the side of the main line.
There is a fake out quest at some point where Velen makes it seem like you will have to go get the Crest but then one of the Windrunner sisters shows up and says “there’s another way” and takes you off to do some normal quests in purple-ville.
The whole chain is quite involved and even having done it nearly 30 times I have to look up what to do next on Wowhead quite often. You regularly get blocked by having to do a mission table quest that takes a day.
You also have to sometimes move the Vindicaar to a new location to get the same quest givers you were standing next to at the other location to offer something new. This made sense at the time it was current because we were slowly moving the Vindicaar across Argus as we progressed the story a bit at a time but it feels a bit random now you can do it all at once.
