I’ve been grinding the Netherwing rep on a Death Knight alt, but for some reason after the patch, whenever I mount up on a flying mount, I get dismounted instead of getting put on the Dragonmaw Netherwing Drake mount. This is making it impossible to get to and from the island to do the quests needed for the reputation.
I can confirm that I can mount on my ground mount, and I can mount my flying mount when I’m not under the effect of the buff that turns me into a Dragonmaw Orc (which the model of is also bugged – the skin texture is missing for Death Knights).
I can confirm that the issue is not caused by any addons as I’ve had this happen to me both with and without addons enabled.
From a user’s perspective, it appears to me that something about the new mount system change broke the ability to automatically have my mount swap over the Dragonmaw Netherwing Drake with the buff active.
Edit: Just replicated this issue on my Warlock as well, so it isn’t an issue limited to Death Knights.

Happening for me too. Exalted w/ Netherwing trying to go pick up all the drakes and I can’t use a flying mount to enter.

Also happening for me. Even tried silly things like using the Orb of Disguise and noggenfoggers in hopes it would do something to the Dragonmaw disguise, but nope. Continuously flung into the twisting nether… Apparently Netherwing Ledge has always had issues? I found stuff as far back as '10 stating, if not the same issues, very very similar.

Unfortunate. I’ve been working on Ogri’la and Netherwing for a week or so, just to log in a crater to my death on the floating asteroid right off the main NPC area D:
What’s the over under on them fixing it? A week? Hot fix in a day? Bummer 
Im also having the same issue, though i saw a guy earlier with all of them so im not sure if its a new issue or if its just happening to some of us for some stupid reason.
Came to see if anyone else was experiencing this issue; glad to see it’s not just me.
Happening to me as well, and not just with the dragonmaw illusion, even when my character is normal i get dismounted and fall to my death just being in the Netherwing fields, really sucks because i was just about to hit exalted and have like 10 eggs to turn in. Can only use ground mounts.
The drake vendor is in shattrath i’m pretty sure
I also experienced this yesterday as a human. I did encounter a horde hunter using the X-45 Heartbreaker mount, which did seem to work there, but their other mounts auto-dismounted too. I tried about 40 different flying mounts without success, instant dismount after casting. Cancelaura didn’t work to try to remove the dragonmaw morph. The drake vendor is not in Shattrath, they’re in the town on the ledge. ended up flying high enough to slowfall to the ledge, GL to anyone who needs the racing quest…
I still have this issue. I just wanted to go back to buy the remaining mounts I’m missing but keep being dismounted and can’t reach the ledge. I always have to either die or hearth to get back.
It’s completely broken. Not only dismounting before you reach the Netherwing Ledge, if you get there by any means no dying you won’t be able to re-summon your mount. Also, there is a bug that makes NPC turn to hostile and back to friendly everytime.
When you turn in the quest for your first one, it’s in Shatt. Unfortunately the vendor for the others is still in Netherwing Ledge =(

Same, can’t mount since Tuesday.
The only work around I can find is if you fly up to the top of the zone, then when you’re dismounted, hit a slowfall item and you’ll land on Netherwing ledge.
Something to keep in mind though, if you change instances from PVP or a dungeon back to Netherwing ledge, all of the NPCs will appear as enemies and you’ll be able to kill them. Not sure what happens if you do, nor if theyll aggro if youre somehow under Neutral standing.

As I pointed out in my post, the problem is with Dragonmaw Illusion. Just tested flying around as a toon that doesn’t have it and was not dismounted.
I can also confirm this is related to the dragonmaw illusion buff, characters that haven’t initiated the quest line can fly in no problem, but once you’re turned into the orc you are dismounted and cannot mount back up.
