Can't Melee Weave on World Bosses

Please do something about the hit box on Azuregos and Kazzak. We can melee from range but traps do not trigger so we have to run twice as far and cuts our damage almost in half. Hoping this won’t be an issue in MC as well.

Zirene needs to just get rid of the weaving business if he cant make it work, Doing a full MM rotation then running in an hitting raptor/wyvern, repeat, is kinda not fun.

Best ‘melee weaving build’ includes sniper training.

With 9 sec trap CD and instant aimed shot, when do you get a chance to melee weave and how is that not a massive DPS loss?

Even being ranged is frustrating with hit boxes, kazzak was standing on my traps and they wouldnt always go off. Lock and load needs a rework to be consistent. Also using a CC trap as part of our damage rotation is plain dumb and I cant believe no one sees that.

The Hunter discord cracks me up. They will do the most awkward and uncomfortably jank things to parse.

You’re a Hunter. Either play Ranged or Melee. They aren’t going to fix the bosses for the 5% of Hunters who care about this lol.

That’s how it’s been in every iteration of Survival Hunter that had Lock & Load. I personally think using CC to help tanks hold aggro in your rotation is good but obviously they can’t balance PvP and PvE separately.

huge bosses have always had wonky hitboxes :expressionless: it’s not just world bosses. get used to it

I just played pure ranged this week because I wanted to figure out the boss hit box area before working in weaving to the rotation…I legit missed more trap on those 2 bosses than I missed total of P3, and most times they were right at the boss’s feet or middle of body for dragon and still wouldnt proc…

not every boss is meant to be designed for ideal circumstances, this isnt retail. some bosses are big, some are small, some have way higher armor, others have crazy high resist. its an RPG.

If we add an active ability called Detonate to the T.N.T. rune that simply activates our currently placed explosive trap I think it would solve our problem with large hit boxes and traps.

Yeah then they should not have made it a play style then. Might as well play rogue and use 2 buttons.

I’m so glad they ruined melee Hunter and forced this playstyle that is completely buggy and janky thanks!

I’m also so glad that if my trap misses the GIANT hit box its in my entire parse and rotation is ruined, thanks guys.

Am absolutely loving the melee weaving build. They knocked it out of the park with this one. There’s a few kinks to iron out but it’s easily the most dynamic playstyle currently in SoD. Would rather not play something that uses only 2 buttons and doesn’t move at all.

What rotation and runes are you using so far?
