Just what is Blizzard testing anyway ? They clearly have the compute resources available to allow us all to login and to play the game… heck, we’re just a subset of the active player base … maybe they’re testing the resolve of the testers ?

I don’t even know if sharding could fix this. If anything the lesson of these two tests might be we do need multiple login servers.

They’re testing the ability of the server to handle a boatload of logins at once.
Clearly we’re too much for them.

Maybe even the log in servers themselves.
They are seeing how much players they can cram into the server so they can put the least amount of servers online at launch. Otherwise they’ll be stuck with a lot of dead empty servers later down the road and (worse for Blizzard) wasted money.

Yeah I kinda have a hard deadline called “work.” So I’ll log in tonight after the test.
I log in and get in queue and then immediately get the message no realms are avaiable. Any one else?

Lol I really thought the logging in part wouldn’t be the actual test but more so how “layering” would function with more people in the starting zones up to a certain level…
