My friend here just had that issue. He did a scan and repair, it updated, then closed the launcher and re-opened and it updated again. The correct version should read 11.0.2.56513 hopefully that works for you also

interesting! mine is showing 56416. ill give it a shot

I updated. I hit play. Nothing. I rebooted. I ran battlenet. I was already updated. I hit play. Nothing. I saw my friends online playing. I saw something about connecting… but no matter how clean the start up, the game will not start. And at 4 AM last night, it started fine. Pretty sure it’s them.

Thank you for the info.

Definitely seems to me that the devs need to fix the problem BEFORE it breaks installations. I jumped through those hoops during pre-release to no avail. I sure hope I don’t have to do that again.

But seriously thank you. Most helpful reply I’ve seen for this issue that goes back to 2020.

Mine reads 11.0.2.56513, and when I hit play, it does nothing.

yeah this is ridiculous. It’s gonna take me at least a hour to scan and repair my game. Hope that fixes it.

Same issue happened to me, and survived all of these things:

  • Simple quit of Battle.net app (should check for update on relaunch, did not)
  • “Forced” update via cogwheel menu next to “Play” button (says current version is up to date, which it is not, at 11.0.2.56416), then quit app
  • Scan and repair, which, once completed, said it was updating but client version after this update was still 11.0.2.56416, then quit app
  • Complete uninstall and reinstall of WOW through Battle.net app. Client version still listed at 11.0.2.56416, then quit app
  • Tried one last time to force update through cogwheel, which again said client was up to date at 11.0.2.56416

Since you did all that… Above.

Try the Beta button in Battle.net

I know they have not worked on beta since Microsoft bought Blizzard, but the beta is still in Battle.net…
If it picks up the update it is worth a try… If not. You can switch back after it jogs your system into updating.
Also turn off the Auto update in battle.net

Good luck.

I’m having this issue too. I scanned and repaired and that did not work.

Currently stuck in this loop. Client is stuck on 11.0.2.56416, and can’t download the correct patch which is 11.0.2.56513…

nvm it works now, I got 2 new updates and everything is great

Having this problem this morning since the Tuesday reset. Unfortunately I don’t have the scan / repair option available. I guess the only strategy left is to uninstall.
