trying to log into wow and on loading screen it gets about 3/4 the way loaded then kicked me back to char select screen and says world server is down.

My guess here is that everyone is trying to log in right now and the servers are bogged down. I have been trying to take a portal to SW for 15 minutes now and cannot get there.

Had the same issue… I just let it sit there. After like 2 min at 75% it loaded in.

Was logged in all day to avoid that. Got kicked out anyway for trying to loot something, now it’s just a black empty character select screen.

Only character I can’t log into is the one I killed nathanos on and logged earlier today. Guessing blizzard forked up Eastern Plaguelands somehow.
I was running firelands just for funs, locked in here now. D/C any time I hearth or try to zone. Trapped inside an instance for launch mmm
Same thing here. My char’s in Orgrimmar and I cannot log in.
Love that new flagging system, how is it blizzard is allowed to troll us with yet another failed launch experience but once you point out the fact that they are not a small indie company in irony your post gets flagged. This is embarrassing for a AAA gaming company to have not a single launch ever go right after promising left and right its gonna be smooth

Not sure I understand the primetime expansion release.
So that world first is a thing?
Doesn’t the raid release in the same post-launch update for all those people?
And aren’t they all going to be 60 before then anyway?
Ugh. Well, that explains why nothing is happening. Stuck at the 75% mark as well. Joy.
No streamers seem to have a problem logging in… weird.

When I hit the 3/4, I get kicked back to the char screen with the message “character not found”.
What I really want to know is how is this still the launch day experience when the game has existed for 16 years now?

I was logged into a Horde toon, couldn’t get to Orgimmar through a portal so went to Uldum, decided to fly from there. Got all the way there then kept getting popped about half way back from where I had just come. It was useless. I gave up, went to another toon, got no place.
This is my experience as well - 75% load, then back to character screen with “character not found”. /sigh
You’d think Blizz would get their sht together after all the years they’ve been in business. Every expansion is the same old sht. They know how many people have purchased this expansion, so how come they can’t figure out how to launch.
So my wife has successfully gotten in game. I’m still stuck with “no character found”.
She sits right next to me.
