So I am doing random dungeons using the built-in LFG tool. Queue pops. Cool. Join group. Can’t teleport in… why? The party is engaged with a boss… ok I’ll wait. Everyone leaves the group after. Why? because they were killing the last boss. So I get no experience or items for the dungeon as I was stuck in Ogrimar.
I also can’t queue for 15 minutes. Seems broken and dumb.
Not sure what you expect Blizz to do about it. The system doesn’t know they’re on the last boss. The group didn’t wait for a fifth and left the queue open. There’s not much that can be done.
They are when the previous outcome of this kind of very rare situation was that the person who was never able to zone because the group was killing the last boss just got an auto-complete. Well, at least that’s what happened to me a couple of times this situation occurred though it’s been a few years since it has happened.
I’m sure there’s some kind of ‘blah, blah, exploit’ for this super rare occurrence but it seems a bit punishing to have somebody end up with a debuff over never being able to enter the thing they signed up for to begin with. More than likely a software limitation unable to tell if the person is legit unable to enter or if someone is just trying to get it completed while zoned out. Whatever the case, I bet it feels pretty bad and is pretty frustrating.
OP - sorry this happened. The good news is that this happening is exceedingly rare and shouldn’t be an on-going issue.
It is frustrating, and its a little more prevalent this expansion due to the Memories dropping off certain bosses. Last run I did the tank left after the 2nd boss, presumably because the Memory they wanted didn’t drop. Why they didn’t put them all on the last boss is totally beyond me.
Insofar as this is a development decision, it IS Blizzard’s fault. Sure, it’s the players that do it, but they wouldn’t do it if what they wanted didn’t drop till the end of the instance.
Kinda, yeah. Blizzard has encouraged that mentality among players that you don’t wait for anything and just go go go. So indirectly yes it’s their fault for cultivating a community that has no patience and figures they don’t have to wait so why would they, because common courtesy is non-existent in WoW.
I also ran into a similar “issue”. Seems to be a counter to people leaving after the first boss with no penalty whatsoever. Might be related to the people leaving after they don’t get their desired Legendary Memory.
I’m not sure if you guys are serious or not? Of course blizzard can do something about this, this is just a logic issue. When a player enter through the lfg tool, that should supercede the no entrance while in combat rule. There, fixed.
Also, the exact scenario the op is describing is rare ( I’ve had a happen a couple times to me), but the scenario of getting locked out of a dungeon for a long time because a small group of survivors is trying to clear trash is pretty common. I see no reason not to improve that experience.
