Still not working for me and cannot install on my Mac.
Well this is the first thing that has worked for me to get this install running and we are almost into December now since you posted this D:
No luck installing here either after trying pretty much everything suggested here. I’m on a M1 Mac Studio running the latest version of Sonoma. Mine never makes it past Initializing (81.92mb/672.64mb).
Anyone have any new solutions that might work here? or are we just out of luck?
I messed with a few things including - to start an installation of Wrath under Live - Classic. Let it initilize and start installing - pause it and then try retail/live again. Since I was messing with things, I can’t say for sure this is what started the actual install on my Mac but never hurts to give it a shot.
Been trying for weeks here as well and have not had any luck. Have tried everything. Currently attempting to install parallels and grab some folders to see if I have any luck.
It seems a common solution to this is simply to not have to install the game from the battle.net app. If you already have game files, there seems to always be a way to get it working.
I don’t see why Blizzard doesn’t simply provide us a zip of the game so that we can download the full game or enough of the files needed, that the battle.net app can just patch and repair, instead of fighting just to get the game to fully download.
So for anyone still having issues or trying. I’ve tried just about everything including a recent post about deleting a few battle.net files, restarting, making sure autoupdate was off and I had no luck.
I went ahead and installed Parallels with the 14 day trial. I have an M1 MBP I installed parallels was pretty quick and easy, got battle.net going (If you encounter issues with it saying bnet is already running, make sure to create a folder in the cdrive, then save to that folder).
Once Bnet is installed, I started installing retail it went through the initial steps was like 646Mb. As soon as the next part of the install started (the large 94gb file I paused). I copied the contents of Warcraft folder from the C drive pasted and replaced the contents in my World of Warcraft folder in applications.
Then I opened Battle.net used the Locate game, choose retail > install /update and it worked.
Thank you so much!! This worked for me. I already had Parallels installed so it was quick to get the game download started and copy the folders over. Crazy that the BNET client is still busted, but I’m glad to have my game back.
I was having this issue. Nothing worked. Deleting this, uninstalling wow altogether. So I gave up, left the stalled installer open in the background and plugged in my Wacom Intuos drawing pad to work on an art project. The second I did that, the download started. Full install, no issues. Don’t know why this would have fixed it. Maybe it was a coincidence. But it was the only thing that changed. And it was literally immediate from the Mac recognizing the Intuos to the install starting.
