Can't Ignore players via Right Click if they're on a different realm

I know you can manually ignore people by typing /ignore character-realm, or again by manually doing so via the friends list…

but cmon, a lot of people don’t know that. is this not like, the easiest fix ever?

Get it together blizzard.

I believe this happens because the game tries to register the first name of a character rather than the whole tag (I’ve had “you’ve ignored X (of your server!)” pop up before.
It can work if you keep clicking ignore, but it can take up to five or six attempts.
This has been going on for years. @_@

I just experienced this problem in a WSG battleground. A player was abusing the ping system which was spamming party chat with alerts. I right clicked their name, chose Ignore, but received the error “No player named ‘PLAYERNAME’ is currently playing.” I tried this several times and received the same error each time.

I did notice that their character name didn’t show a realm after it in party chat like normal, but they were from a different realm than me (I could see that when they left the BG). I also couldn’t report them for spamming for some reason, I’m guessing because we were grouped?

Needless to say it was very annoying to deal with and disruptive to our whole battleground team.
