Went to Sunwell Plateau to farm the pets there. Once I completed it, I decided to head back to the start to reset it, but found that it is impossible to return to the start of that raid. It’s teleport, hearth, or stay there forever.
Is this a bug that never got fixed because nobody ever tried to go back to the entrance, or is it intentional? … or am I missing something? I’d rather not teleport/hearth out as I want to run it again.
It’s “intentional” in the sense that the developers never bothered. Hearthing and portaling are adequate; there isn’t anything obvious to be gained by returning to the entry portal and going out, since, for instance, you can’t reset and reenter (raid has a fixed once per week per character lockout).
If you want another way out, make a custom premade group and then immediately leave party after listing it. You’ll get a 60-second timer and then find yourself outside the raid in the graveyard in Sun’s Reach Sanctum.
Thank you. I did not know that they were “once per week” … or at least I didn’t remember. It’s been quite a long while since I played Wow last.
As a general rule, raids are once per week, resetting on reset day (which is approximately equal to end of weekly maintenance). If you want to farm raid pets faster, you should plan on running multiple characters.
Ruins of Ahn’qiraj (“AQ25”) is daily reset, but has no pet drops.
