Yeah, I usually get the whisper asking if I’m fire when I decide to pug. I’ll indulge them, but I would probably do more damage in my frost stuff lol.

Does this really happen that often? I spammed M+ last lockout applying to PUGs and I was never asked once,

all the time. I can’t get in or I’d spam them too. I can get into the lower ones prob because of my Gear score. but no one wants frost on 6+

I’d say it happens about as often as it did in BFA. I’d imagine it’s the same guys that want 190+ ilvl for a 5 though lol.
Maybe my early groups were just desperate for someone with lust. Community perception is strong, even if Frost gets buffed it’d take a while for the perception to turn around.
They’re not entirely wrong to ask either this week, we make a hard decision between AOE and ST with Glacial Fragments vs Slick Ice (I still run GF despite Tyrannical) while Fire picking up Flame Patch for AOE isn’t a very big loss on single target and both Firestorm and Fevered Incantation are good for both trash and bosses. We’re just in a rough spot right now when the direct competition is Fire and some of us hard committed to frost with legendaries and Venthyr.
Frost is good in M+, about the only thing it excels at. People declining you probably aren’t worth grouping with anyway.

You can’t even play fire to it’s full potential in 6 keys stuff dies too fast. Arcane is best in that territory.
No one has an issue with me in m+ as frost i usually average like 3.4k damage overall in the dungeon with glacial fragments. I’ve done M8 so far no issue but i’m also 195 ilvl.

Doing the necessary damage isn’t really the issue so much. OP is talking about not even getting in the key because of his spec.
Yeah, that happens to everyone though. Whether it’s spec, IO score, ilvl, server… ect.
Sure, but it’s just going to get worse from here until something gets fixed. IO and ilvl matter for most keys I’d imagine. It’s a manageable annoyance though. It really doesn’t happen all that often and you can always switch to a spec you aren’t geared for and just hope to get carried a bit lol.
Community perception is a morale killer, and will be the reason most people are declined sadly.
For sure. Ironically the thing that makes fire so good is rarely utilized in pugs.

Perhaps, but there are frost mages in some of the highest keys done so far.
The lack of AOE cap? Yep… Fire mage is sick in coordinated groups, lackluster in pugs… you do 10k dps or 1k
Hi, I’m frost and got into 40ish 6+ groups. Just keep trying . Some people might not Inv you, but not everyone. Personally, I’ve yet to run into anyone like that.
