But for real, with how cross server things are now its not awful to get a name you’ll like on a dead server. The only thing you’d be missing out on is the shard layering in the outside world which is only a big deal if you do outdoor events like nightfall etc
Ask ChatGPT. It’s surprisingly good at generating names (way better than the randomize option in game). Give it a little background on the character, like race and class, and maybe some extra criteria like “I want it to start with V, and end with the -ah sound”

I didn’t have a choice cuz theres no last names.
This is another reason i do not like full realms. Medium realms are better for me personally. You can join guilds on a different server, while having fewer shards and less chat spam. Plus easier to find rares.
does ur realm not matter anymore for Guilds?
Realms and faction do not matter for guilds. You might want to make an alt there where you can ask about joining a guild or use the forum for finding a guild. If you are a different faction from guildies in a party, you won’t be able to do outdoor content together, but once inside an instance, you are good to go.
It doesn’t, guildmates on another server can still do your crafting order if you put it in the guild request tab

Yea, you gonna have to get creative to use something without special characters.
You did know you can use special characters though, right? Like for A you can use Ă (alt+133), for example
I was aware. I just generally try to avoid it. I completely wasnt aware of the realms not mattering for guilds update though. Might have to go down that path. We will see.
Good luck finding crafters on a dead server… Obviously solved if you join a cross-realm guild that has all crafting professions covered well, but that’s a non-issue on high-pop realms. That may or may not matter to the OP, but it’s a reason to avoid low-pop realms until everything on the AH & Crafting is cross-realm.
I’ve been on Stormrage forever and still manage to find some good names. Sometimes you need to check the obvious.
Eh i do fine on The Forgotten Coast and Gorgonnash/alterac mountains, theres always a Master of All in trade chat advertising. I made my own alts jewelcrafting because i recraft rings a lot. I thought it’d be hard too initially but it was surprisingly easy for a realm cluster that used to have not one person in Oribos or Valdraken at night 
Now The Scryers for example i’d be more skeptical since it’s an rp realm
Every expansion cross realm seems to be moving more in more in that direction, so it will be a rough start but I have full confidence it wont matter. Might be good to get a head start at that point.
I was running into this as well. Every now and I again I get a nice name on stormrage like this character or I made a character named Lilac on there recently. It can be tough to find a nice name lol.
I was Told by an AI it still effects Rated pvp. Is that true? OR Is rated pvp not effected by realms either when finding groups in solo shuffle or blitz?
Stormrage is a pop server with alot of people on it, so yea most names are gonna be taken
