I became Friendly (rep) with Sons of Hodir and can’t find Everfrost Chips lying on the ground anywhere. What happened?
What do you mean what happened? It’s not like they’re just littering the ground, they’re rare for a reason

Questy shows them all over the place but really ,there might be one in all of the zone and they are small, you have to get close to see a little green spot.
I watched a youtube video on where someone else found some and kept checking those spots ,now i almost always see them in like two spots.
what do you get off them?
aren’t they basically the Netherwing Egg turn in for the Frost Giants? they’re rare so you don’t just casually pick up a bunch of them and max out your rep.

It’s something like 2-5 gold and 350 rep. It’s a nice little bonus, but hardly required.
I’ve had rare days where I’ve found 2-3, but most days it’s 0-1. There are a lot of potential spawn points, and it’s possible they spawned in one of those more out of the way spots, but also possible someone else just beat you to it.
Is it really worth flying around extensively? Not unless you just like the sheer thrill of potential discovery.

One minor correction of what I said - I believe the first turn in gives more gold (at 80) because there is XP tied to that quest, but the repeat turn ins are pretty marginal because it’s just the base quest gold/rep.

They’re rare. I didn’t see any at all until phase 3.
