Can't even get 1800

I’ve barely gotten it on 2 toons this season, sub and rdruid RSS. I’ve been playing disc the past few weeks trying to get it for the set. I can’t for the life of me get over the 1800 wall it’s insane, and I’ve been 2100 in multiple seasons including last one. 300+ rounds. Most games I’m fighting for a 3-3, normally either a 6-0 or 0-6 dps.

It straight up feels like a duelist/glad push at 1750 mmr - simply because all the players at even this mmr are duelists and glads. It’s a giant wall that seems impossible to climb. Every game is so sweaty and I gotta try so hard to at least break even.

Even got a decent win streak last night couple 4-2’s and 5-1’s. So close and one bad lobby tanks me and I lost all my progress from the night.

Literal biggest waste of my time and sanity attempting to push rating right now in shuffles especially as a healer. They need to inject way more mmr fast because it’s not even noticeable.

Idc call me bad or whatever only thing that is bad is this game that for whatever reason I continue to play. All my friends quit years ago.

Just angry ranting

Have you tried holy with 4pc? I started healing this season due to the fast queue and I hit 1800 within 100 games on holy priest. I don’t find disc that fun even tho it is really good in RSS. I recommend holy, if a total noobie like me who started playing wow in dragonflight can hit 1800 as holy, you def can too.

There is absolutely nothing whatsoever present in epic bgs that could even come close to stimulating my brain as a healer or player. Even if rating wasn’t involved, in no universe is healing an epic bg more engaging than healing in arena matches for anyone that isn’t swooned by spectacle or the idea of being in a big battle. At best it’s a novelty distraction & honor faucet.

More power to those that are able to enjoy them I guess.

I was so close the other day at 1790. I am playing for vault not rating, so I don’t put much into it.
I got into matches with the most toxic players this week.
People fighting, intentionally dying, refusing to play, all of them reporting each other and letting everyone know about it. 5 games in a row I had people leave.
Not only are you waiting in line for 30 minutes it’s also terrible when you get in.
I’m actually mad at myself for doing it, but I want to unlock my vault

My WW partner and I have been in the top 100, the highest top 5 in 2v2, and we can’t break out of 1900 RN.

Comin’ in hot huh? Lol.

Lol nah man I mean, I get it. You’re not wrong. I assumed by the glad comment and stuff he just means that he’s used to a more linear progression of difficulty and is used to better players gatekeeping him from the 2100+ realm and not the 1750+ realm. However it’s also early season and like… is to be expected haha.

I do agree that people are generally way too soft in this world though. Especially the recent generation. Either that or the soft ones are just way more outspoken haha. I went through this as work recently. Some people just have zero drive and ALL the entitlement.

Dealing with it with two young guys in my office right now 19,21 I’ve watched them cry actual tears when they found out they were wrong about something (they’re in initial training atm)

I just hate seeing posts like this so much idk man. I’m glad my dad was a jerk to me and did things like break my stuff if I told him “I can’t” I think OP and a whole huge chunk of the Internet needed a bigger jerk for a dad

You guys are kind of forgetting that you’re talking about swag in a video game, though. Lol

I quit doing arena because the gameplay isn’t fun enough to justify the amount I’ve got to play it to get whatever trinket I’d like to have (in SL the grind was shorter, so I found it tolerable). I guess other people who also don’t really find it that fun choose to instead suffer it and complain. I don’t think that’s really comparable to homelessness, or whatever.

I do think it’s dumb to not like something and keep doing it if you don’t have to, though.

Actual tears huh? Lol. Well if there’s one thing I learned even way back in bootcamp, it’s that about 10% of all people, or men I should say, definitely can’t handle stress at all :stuck_out_tongue:

But yeah I mean in wow I like fighting really good players usually. I learn a lot from them. I don’t necessarily want to fight the top 3 on the ladder for my glad push starting at 2k buuuut, I quite like it usually. That’s one of the reasons I was into shuffle season 1. A chance to play with and against those guys.

Well, not really. The point is that mentality is applicable to a variety of things and can carry over to your real life. It’s probably not out of line to assume someone who gives up quickly in one area will do so in another.

What trinket…? I don’t know what about SL was shorter or whatever but either way yeah I mean, if it’s not fun then don’t play it for sure. Arena being fun is the ONLY reason I play it. That’s why even if rating is stagnant and there’s no inflation, I still enjoy queueing. The push is fun but so is the method. For me anyway. If this person just wants the mog and doesn’t like pvp much then I could see this being annoying. But that’s why no matter what is accessible in pve, I simply don’t play it. (Except that fire moonkin form… got that sh__ :sunglasses: ). They could easily just wait later in the season and get it super easily.

Do you think I’m homeless because I’m not doing arena? Lol

I mean, you’re not wrong, but at the same time, would you throw a little league team against an MLB team and expect them to learn much of anything? And the vast majority of the wow pvp community will never be able to beat gladiators/rank 1s. Should they just stop playing? I was running 2s with my buddy last night on my druid. He’s almost 50, I’m in my 40s. I won’t ever be a gladiator again like I was back in Cata and MoP, and that is ok. But in 8 games in a row we faced multi glads (and 4 rank 1s) in the 1500 bracket isn’t the most fun.

And this is supposed to be a game. A form of entertainment. I think that is the general complaint at this point in posts like this. Just because something ruins the fun that you are supposed to be having (and paying for), doesn’t mean that they are not mentally unable to deal with challenges.

I don’t see an issue with fighting past glad xp players at 1800. That’s where the ladder is right now.

You’re Qing into them with the intent to go higher in rating so you need to play better and beat them in order to do that. Which is 100% possible for anyone with a keyboard to do.

The issue is your CR number means different things at different times 2100 right now is not the same as 2100 4 months from now and I think that just confuses people

If it was possible for anyone to do you wouldn’t have the same people being rank 1st and champions year after year. Some people just are better. And that whole cr is not the same now as it will be in the future is a terrible way to run a game that everyone pays for. It is a way to keep killing off participation in PvP. Is that what everyone wants? I mean, really? This isn’t life. Its entertainment. And people who are usually 1600-1800 shouldn’t have to wait months to play a game. What kind of game design is that, unless we are all going to admit that PvP in this game is close to being completely dead and has no way to come back except for the elite.

And our CR was 1550 in the rank 1 fights. Enemy team’s CR was 1850. There is definitely an issue with the game and participation right now.

I mean yes, personally I’m surprised with the age of the game it hasn’t happened already

True. But there just isn’t anything quite like it. At its best, its a nice way to wind down from a hard week at work and raising kids. And maybe it is getting close to its time now.

I do not agree with this.

Have you ever seen a screen of a gladiator? there are tons of auras, addons, tracks, bars everywhere, sounds, flashing screen, messages, icons, macros… they remember every debuff and every little thing…

This may be fun for them, but there are people who want to install as few addons as possible, enter the area, make a few moves and that’s it. It’s OBVIOUS that we have to know how to play with our class, but the idea was to do this in a more relaxed way… I don’t want to make my screen look like an American football strategy board.

a very silly example of this: I can admire Dendi, from Dota 2, because he made incredible plays playing the SAME GAME as all the other players. In this case, I would agree that everything is based on experience and they are using the same mouse/keyboard and the same game with no modifications.

In WoWs case…it’s like I said, there are players who use every metric, every addon, every method they can use to gain an advantage.

I refuse to make this my life goal, and master every skill of every class, debuffs, timings, look at the game as if I were watching stock market charts… that’s not fun for me.

These guys had to stay in their ranks and let NORMAL people play calmly in normal ranks.

auto quoting me here : There will be people who will say that they picked up Gladiator with at most 1 or 2 addons without having to memorize anything and without much effort. I ignore these people because that’s a lie.
