In anticipation of classic coming I resubbed. Did some BFA story line and was like cool, not bad. Then hit the dailies wall. I already ground out some new races and endlessy ground out the new armor crappola and here I am again. ITS THE SAME THING! Over and over and over! If any one thing soiled WoW for me it was the rise of the time gate. Classic cannot possibly come soon enough.
classic endgame is grinding as well, just an FYI.
Complains about grinding
Praises classic aka the literal most grindiest version of wow
does not compute
If ur struggling over retail i doubt youâll get your classic toon past level 5 honestly. 10 max id say.
You complaining about grinding and then saying canât wait for classic which is even more of a grind makes my head hurt.
Make up your mind, please.
i think a lot of the people âcoming backâ for classic didnât really play it when it was current⌠thatâs the only thing i can think ofâŚ
Same thing over and over got you bent outta shape huh? Classic about to get you all sorts of screwed up tbh.
Theyâre just riding the nostalgia train, will play for 2 weeks and then write an angry post on the Classic GD saying theyâre done.
I never played classic but everyone has told me in great detail how it used to be⌠Im one of the few who isnt really looking forward to it.
Just a reminder, the reputation grind in classic didnât have dailies, but the only way to get reputation was by farming massive amounts of rune cloth.
Dailies did not come out until later, and even tabards, were not put in until much much later.
Dailies only give some replayability to the current content, and itâs not a requirement beyond the ability to fly, which you can stop after you hit revered.
You are thinking itâs not going to be more work, but I have to say alot of things you think are grinds, are actually quality of life upgrades vs what classic actually was.
Listen I normally donât say anything but for gods sake you will be grinding along in classic.
As far as BfA you either play or not play it. It all is your choice. No one is forcing you to do anything. Time gating is here to stay get over it.

Oh youâre going to hate classic if you think this is bad.
Because all classic was at the end game was grinding, and at least with retail WoW you had goals and could take a break whenever you wanted, come back for a nice rep boost via emissaries etc.
In Classic it was grind, grind, grind until you went mad. Think, WoD reputations, thatâs what youâre in for. Even if you didnât need anything from the rep vendors though? Youâre still going to be grinding, because of these amazing things called âweapon skillsâ which meant that if you didnât grind the points up (and trust me, thereâs only so many deeprun tram rats you can hit before you lose your mind) you hit like a wet noodle.
I must be having a stroke because I canât agree with you more.
It was fun the same way a black and white tv is when you had no concept of a tv prior.
But thatâs not what happened. Can you retailers not understand that there are different kind of grinds
some of us have played both. retail >>>>>>>>>>>>> classic. by far.
Hmm, yes, farming mobs in the blasted lands just to level was so much better then spending a little time on some dailies, and then going about your business.
Think, WoD reputations
It was worse than Warlords. Much worse, plus back then none of the factions had any cool mounts. It was mostly for trade skill patterns or an odd trinket.

Honestly the difference between grinding today and grinding in Classic is leagues apart.
Yes grinding in Vanilla/Classic the grinds were much longer and much more all consuming, but you had freedom in how you approached them, and if you approached them.
If you wanted to spend 6 hours on a Saturday grinding rep with the Bloodsail Buccaneers you totally could do that.
Or if you wanted to do 30 minutes here and there that was also an option.
In Live, that isnât an option, you have contrived systems in place that determine how and when and what amount you can grind each day.
Can only play 2 days a week not 7? Sorry you are only able to earn 500 rep a week instead of 1750.
The grinds in Live arenât the issue, how they are gated and delivered to us are.
There is no alternative, do the few dailies available today and hope you can also be on the next day, and the next day.
It makes it almost a must do situation every time you log in and thatâs not great in a game where itâs supposably open world.
Things like HoA levels and flying arenât really something you just âignoreâ like an epic chest you donât really need.
They become a requirement, not an option.
TL:DR - The difference between Classics longer grind and Live is choice, the choice of whether you want to grind them and how you grind them.
Iâd rather have a longer grind that I could freely do in my own time as I see fit, than a shorter grind that I can only do 2.5% towards each day.
