Ya’ll have fun with your holy paladin or die meta. I can’t do this anymore. I can’t continue to defecate my time away trying to get into groups where the DPS don’t even know how to interrupt then have everyone go “OH THIS DISC CANT EVEN DO HEALING”. Even though this week I’ve cleared +12s just fine… and timed a ton of 10s/11s. Which I’m proud of as a new player. Especially given this week’s affixes are apparently pretty hard.
But no apparently them utterly ignoring mechanics and me literally popping rapture and barrier and still being unable to save them is my fault.
Baby. I’m so past done. I’m SO PAST DONE.

Meta is king. If I want to do keys I need to be holy paladin cause THANKS MDI. And no I do not enjoy holy paladin, I thought I might but I actually despise it.

It’s not fun anymore
2.1 Being yelled at for other people failing to do interrupts or failing to move out of mechanics hasn’t been fun. Only shammy can do it. They instant cast right after I do fear or shining light talented knockback as a priest.
2.2. Being declined from keys for an hour straight is not engaging, fun or interactive content
2.3. I wanted to originally play disc since it was similar to FFXIV healer style. Nope. -
I miss my toxic guild from alliance but it completely fell apart. I only have my boyfriend around. It’s lonely as frigging heck. I’m always lonely now and it sucks.
I tried harder than anyone ever should have to.
- I completely rerolled horde to have an easier time doing keys. Brand new character.
- I spent hundreds of thousands of gold on BOEs to get ahead so my ilevel would be good. (And it’s far higher than many toxic people who “call me out” so don’t tell me I didn’t freaking try.)
- I grinded covenant renown into max for soulbinds ASAP.
- I’ve also made a holy paladin, shaman, druid and a like level 52 monk I dropped-- why? So I could try different styles of healing. I’ve hit burnout from following azeroth autopilot.
It’s not good enough though apparently for me to get +4 keys! WOOOOOOO WHOS HAVING FUN YET.
Cause it is NOT ME.
So yeah. Back to FFXIV I go full time.
Takeaways From My Failed Experiment
This experiment was a failure and taught me a few key lessons

The community really is as bad as people say.

Meta > People. Pick the class not the player. Don’t play what you like if you don’t want to get dumped on.

People will eagerly brick your keys and leave you for dead even if you did literally nothing wrong. Completely self absorbed.

Making friends, allies or whatever else in this game is a figment of your imagination. Imagine playing an online game to make friends and play with others!
I mean you do play with others… kind of? Let’s be honest. It’s become more of a solo single player game where you have raider io match you with impersonal bots based off of their raider io score (OH AND CLASS. Even Yumy the literal top m+ player in the world was declined from keys as a MW monk! Imagine declining Yumy from your key group LOL)
- Most raid leaders are morbidly incompetent. Sorry not sorry just going to say how it is. Screaming at the top of your lungs and berating people and kicking people (which lead to your guild literally dying-- mmhmm I literally saw that) doesn’t make a good leader.
PS: The actual talent that is so talented they don’t need to deal with your antics. Baby that top percentile DPS player does not need to stick around in your raid cause any other group would happily snatch them up Horde or Alliance.
- Faction based games are antiquated.
Imagine literally dividing your playerbase up based purely on some old faction choice.
And then this division prevents one half from playing with the other half. Which cuts the pool of m+ and raiders you can have at any time in half-- assuming factions are balanced which they are NOT.
But if your friends are alliance? Well-- make the decision between them or having a harder time doing literally any content in WoW. And that means rated pvp, m+ or raid.
This is so beyond antiquated baby I don’t even know what to say to it anymore.
- Imagine blaming a healer for your own mistakes.
Well baby, I gotta tell you somethin real quick: It doesn’t need to be imagined. It’s real.
I have dealt with more inept DPS where your ONLY job is to DPS and interrupt and they STILL fail to do it.
Yo if you can’t interrupt the only healer that can actually do that and prevent it from actually casting in 0.5 seconds later is a RESTORATION SHAMAN. I can knock em back, I can fear em, I can do some things but an interrupt I CANNOT DO.
But apparently that’s my fault.
Where I’m on disc not only healing but also DPSing. Yet these DPS can’t interrupt?
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
The inflated sense of self worth and entitlement and blame shifting is outrageous. I can’t deal with it. I know exactly when we die because it’s when interrupts are missed and I can’t barrier/rapture my party out of it.
