Cant do dungeons or raids or anything

Seriously Blizzard, its BEEN ONE FREAKING MONTH since the patch came out, and the game still has issues for people that play on Mac

Every single time i try to do a dungeon, the game constantly freezes or outright restarts the computer itself

And in open world at worst its fps drops from time to time, and sometimes really constantly

This WAS NOT an issue before 8.3

And before the random idiot that comes here to make fun of Mac users (yes you are a pathetic idiot) or thinks they are better than us just cause they use a different system, well guess what? you are not special, you simply play on a different system, people like you are just has pathetic has the PC users that make fun of Console players

The game was released on Mac and worked well until recently, they deserve to be able to play the game properly just has much has everyone else that uses a different system.

Going back to topic, i just dont feel confident to do anything important since im just expecting the game to become unstable and freeze or crash, this includes the Visions which if you remember are highly punishing for failing which will 100% happen if this errors occur.

The worst part is that the “fix” they offer has temporary solution (btw doesnt work) makes you a liability, which is to reduce the particle effects which makes you unable to see certain mechanics that in most cases are crucial to be able to see, such has the Transfusion from the Atal Dazar boss (you cant see the pools of blood)

I repeat, this was not an issue before 8.3

Rant over

Has any of this been posted in the CS forums? Because it’s not going to get much traction here, unfortunately. There will just be a bunch of Mac haters trolling here.

I’m sorry. :slightly_frowning_face:

Have you tried running the PC version in Wine or making a partition to run Windows until they get the Mac version fixed? At least that way you could still play without worrying.

They don’t seem to care about the Mac version anymore and that sucks for people who prefer it.

Not everyone can just buy a new computer, thats not a solution

And people shouldnt be forced to switch to a different system because one system the game was made for doesnt work correctly

It’s just it’s an apple… he would be better off just installing windows on it rather then ranting about the sunk cost of the worst operating system.

Just because you dislike Mac OS doesn’t mean it’s the worst. You play on what you want, leave others alone.

This isn’t the OP’s fault and it’s getting really old to hear this crap from people.

Don’t like Mac? Fine. Then ignore the thread and keep the bs to yourself.

It isn’t that I dislike it… I’m just realistic about its limitations. It is akin to getting wow to run on linux. It just isn’t designed for it.

Anybody else having massive Deja Vu?

I’m having massive Deja Vu

Blizzard supports Mac and WoW was running good on it until 8.3

Yes but it requires a massive amount of work to make that happen and if I’m going to be blunt I can’t imagine the number of people using mac’s to game on being high enough to make that a large priority.

It is a extremely niche thing.

Look it sucks I get that but there is a extremely noticeable trend of gaming companies avoiding mac’s for a reason.

Small indie company.

Look I didn’t mean to come off condescending I get that it sucks but if you want to game on a computer letting someone know that a mac isn’t the best way to go isn’t bad advice.

Here’s the latest post I could find for you, but you probably already read it. Best of luck.

I WoW’d on a MacBook Pro 2012-2017/8. Then I built my rig. My laptop (ty parents) cost $3K and can’t be upgraded. My PC rig cost $2.5K and uses the best parts. PC can be upgraded.
I loved my Mac. But build a PC for WoW

warning not a mac user but are there graphics drivers you need to manually update like on windows? usually my gaming issues on windows is driver related and finding a driver that works is important. (my resent issues have been temperature related but i got those fixed)

my sister has a mac but she doesn’t game so i’m not much help.

whether or not MAC sucks is not the point. Blizzard has a MAC client download available. Since they don’t know how to code for MAC, maybe they should get rid of it. MAC cs hasn’t heard of what blizzard is saying is the issue and they say that blizzard needs to fix its game. So, why is blizzard selling a game with an incompatible MAC client?

Wrong. It’s been designed for Mac for ages.

And yet all of their games have been designed for Mac for a very very very long time.

No it’s not.

There is no reason for Blizz. All of their games are designed for both operating systems.

It is when the entire line of games is built for both systems and not everyone is a young gamer. People buy computers for work and family. They aren’t kids who buy them solely for gaming. These are casual games for casual players who play on different systems.

And I was progression raiding on my MacBook Pro back in the day. So that’s bs that the systems can’t handle WoW.
