Can't disable Auto Quest Tracking

Can someone help me out here? I’ve went into Game Menu - Interface - Display, and UN-checked “Automatic Quest Tracking” but for some reason, when I accept a new quest, it still pops up on the right side of the screen in the yellow tracking text dropdown. I’ve disabled all my addons and the game still does it when accepting a new quest. Is there a way to completely disable this with a command? I have questie and occasionally use zygor when I get lost and dont want my screen cluttered up with anything else. I’ve only had this issue since this latest latest patch. Like I said, I disabled everything and its like the game doesn’t recognize the automatic quest tracking option in the settings and just defaults to the tracking being left on.

EDIT/UPDATE:
Disregard, I found the issue. Apparently the issue had to do with my using of Zygor Guides new feature (which is listed in the settings of that addon as BETA but was automatically turned on because I’ve never seen it before) which over-rides the “Automatic Quest Tracking” option in your wow settings. Even if you have that option UN-checked (like I do), Zygor “[BETA] Use quest chains” option will STILL toggle your Automatic Quest Tracking on.

If anyone has this issue, reach out, its an easy fix. The issue won’t completely resolve with a simple /reload. You have to set the options, then manually logout to desktop and relog in. Its a PITA and took a few hours of checking and unchecking options till I found the problem.

Hi,
I actually want Auto Quest Tracking turned on, but cannot find how t turn it on. The new Display does not show that option for me. I have a Screen shot all marked up in Photoshop ready to include, but I do not see that as an option here so I will outline the steps. Any help is greatly appreciated.

STEPS:
ESC
Menu
Game Tab
Gameplay
Interface
Options
Display:
Hide Adventure Game Alerts
In Game Navigation
Tutorials
Outline Mode
Status Text
Chat Bubbles

Thank you,

  1. ESC pulls up the “Game Menu”
  2. Click on “Interface”
  3. You’ll see a tab at the top labeled “Game”. If you have any 3rd Party Addons installed, you may also see a “Addon” tab. Make sure you have the “Game” Tab selected.
  4. You should see “Display”, select that
  5. 4th option down is “Automatic Quest Tracking”. Make sure you have a check in that box.
  6. Select “Okay” at the bottom. Close your options. You now have quests on the right side of your screen in a drop down menu.

Thank you, but I really do not have that option. I have a screen shot, but I don’t see an option for that. It’s got my friend’s stumped as well.

I’m experiencing the same issue. Unable to disable automatic quest tracking.
