I feel more comfortable playing a demon hunter, but I like the over all less apm of the warlock. Mage looks fun too.
You forgot Hunter but I’ll forgive you.
DH if you like leaping about madly mashing buttons. Mage is good but you will find it somewhat more demanding than warlock.
Warlock does current content far easier than mage. Basically a warlock is a mage on easy mode. DH is melee and can tank so you can’t really compare it.
Mage is superior for old content farming though. Much more so than a warlock will ever be.
Mage and Warlock are the most fun in my opinion. The Demon Hunter always seemed a bit gimmicky to me, but fun in PvP.
If you like virtue, play a Mage. If you want to be a bit of a (self censorship exercised), play a Warlock. I love how my voidwalker keeps punching things in the head even once they’re on the ground breathing their last breath.
Hunters never really appealed to me. I like them in theory, but their transmog options are lacking.
Dont think I’d ever decide to play a class based on how their gear looks. For me its how much fun it is to actually play.
This is easy. Want to melee? DH
Want to do magic? Mage
Want to do magic but pretend to be a hunter? Lock
Literally the only way I figure out what to play is based on how their gear looks
I would play a rogue, but they’re to complex now.
warlocks nice.
demo. nice. gana be weird soon tho.
aff has buttons.
destruction has really nice aesthetics.
Mage. never tried.
demonhunter.
best pvp spec out there to play is havoc imho. just feels so high octane.
tanking is nice too.
id say main dh. side character a warlock.
I tried out demon hunter, it was a blast zipping around. Then the novelty of the mobility wore off and I thought it was ho-hum.
Try them all, you have time.
You’re likely a smart person. Hunters are for the smooth brain gang
Mage for sure. All three specs are amazing fun right now. Plus portals are the best.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, however, I am merely average, at best.
Beast Mastery hunter forever. I love being able to dps on the run.
And, yes, our transmog has been awful since forever but sometimes you can piece together looks that are kinda alright.
if you want multiple role options, then DH.
if you want a good gatherer for herbs or mining nodes, then warlock (pet deals with local mobs while you harvest). I have always preferred lock for flavor. and as an undead lock, all mobs have flavor…
I have never been that good at mage. I tried it early in this expac as my main, but I wanted to be arcane and that was just a pain. dropped it and never really looked back.
Warlock: Will usually have one meta comp spec for raids and one underperforming spec. It can be hit or miss for M+ depending on tuning. 3 DPS specs that play differently, raid utility that is desired. Depending on spec, you will have a lot more APM or a lot less. Affliction is high APM, Demo is Mid, Destro is low.
Demon Hunter: Very tuning dependent. Havoc has been up and down as far as power goes. Right now its down, but will go up in 10.2. The spec is fun depending on how you want to play. It can be a little spammy and has great mobility, but very tuning dependent. Vengeance is the same. It is a solid tank spec but is very tuning dependent. The spec very much goes through highs and lows as far as popularity and power. 10.2 looks good for Demon Hunter.
Mage: 3 DPS specs, and usually 1 is in the meta and the other two are situationally strong or just strong in general. Mage seems to usually be tuned well and toward the top of the list as far as performers go. The three specs play differently so there is variety. The only issue that happens, is that one spec drastically outperforms the other two, so you may feel required to play it. But it is almost always in a good spot.
I personally have all three at max level. I prefer lock, as just thematically I like it, but it gets frustrating at times, depending on spec. DH is fun, and I have been playing it lately. Im not a fan of the momentum based buff window, maintenance buff style, and prefer a demonic window playstyle, but it isnt that bad. For mage, I keep trying it out, and it just never resonates with me. I cant put my finger on it, but mage just doesnt butter my bread.
I’ve decided on a demon hunter.
I will rest now. Take care everyone.
sets out trays of chaos nachos
Enjoy everyone.
Do Not play DH. The double-jump/glide will spoil you.
