Having some extreme decision paralysis on what character to level and run as my main. Got DF a few weeks ago and i keep hoping around to different characters. Haven’t yet got one to max level.
I think at least I’ve narrowed it down to DK, Rogue, Warrior or Shaman. I primarily just want to melee dps. I enjoy most of these classes right now, and want to eventually do M+.
I want a class thats fun to play, with some decision making and utility.
Issue with warrior is a lot of high key groups won’t blindly take a flavour of the month class/spec.
With season 1 being more than half done, my suggestion woukd be to just take ya time, level what ones you are enjoying currently, join their discords, and see what the players have to say (not the GD lurkers).
Seriously though, of those listed, I’ve only played DK and rogue. DK is really fun as unholy, but the rotation is fairly complex. However, if you are able to grasp it and balance your runes and runic power without over-capping either, you should have a lot fun with it. Rogue is more straight-forward and might not have the “fun and utility” you ask for.
The answer when fun is involved, is always druid. Try feral? I play every class on both factions, and I always come back to my druid being the most fun.
Any of the choices you listed are fine, which mechanics do you enjoy the most? The one thing I will say, is that mobility is a big issue this expansion, you are always having to move be it pvp or pve so…out of those classes DK is by far the worst movement wise. Warrior and Rogue having the best options.
I do find DK mobility lacking thats for sure. But i like the BRez because you can help your group out.
Warrior is fun but doesnt really bring anything besides damage.
Would like a rotation that isnt too spammy, shaman was kind if nice with that since youre usually pressing different abilities based on whats available to you
only you know whats fun to you. idk many people don’t really have a main they play alot of different things all the same but i guess that depends on how much time you actually got play and all that. i really ain’t been playing much at all but the only things i find fun right now is enhancement and prot pally enhance is always fun no matter what to me it’s just something about them.
Rogue. If you truly only want to melee dps you have 3 specs to choose from as opposed to 2 for DK and warrior and one for shaman. Rogues have a high skill cap which makes them fun to play for longer and typically at least one rogue spec is good in every form of content. If you have any interest in PVP at all, rouges have been S tier in every expansion ever too.
I don’t even like rogues personally, but they are by far the most logical choice.
I haven’t played enhance shaman in a long time so Idk how they are now.
If it were me, I’d go for arms warrior or rogue. Then DK, I love rogues and DKs for pvp but again, that’s me.
Leveling is pretty fast, getting gear is pretty easy too so just zone in on one and go for it. Once you open up the WQs, you’ll be hopping around on your alts getting them geared and leveling them up as you go.
If enhance is bad, shaman will feel bad. DK, and warrior have 2 choices each, but rogue has 3 specs…and the chances of all 3 specs being dogwater is very low. If all 3 classes are relatively equal and you have no interest in tanking, rogue is gonna be the safest choice. They also have the most utility.
Druid and Shaman both give you melee, but also the option of ranged, plus healing, or even tanking as a bear if you want.
2 solid choices to play.
If you are likely to play solo, then DK is a great option too. Blood is insanely easy to solo pretty much everything in the open world except world bosses. That said, Prot Paladins are the same, and Ret is fun.
Ive never gone past level 40 for Warrior so have no opinion there.
Groups will be significantly easier to get into as enhance or rogue, because they’re both fotm. After people see the unh dk’s in MDI maybe they’ll start taking them more often too. Warriors and dk’s are strong, but for meta community perception is more important than fact. I personally find dk and enhance the most fun out of those.
