If a WQ would award Valorstones that would put you over the cap, you cannot complete the WQ at all. It just says “failed” and you receive zero renown.
I wouldn’t expect to go over the cap for Valorstones, but at 1998/2000, it’d be nice to receive 2 Valorstones and the renown I should have earned anyway.
