I have over 300k in my inventory. I have a money purchase within the past 2-3 months. Why can I not use gold to get a token?
More details would help us try to troubleshoot this. Is this on a retail realm? Are you trying to buy it from the character selection screen with the correct real selected? Would it zero-out any characters on that realm as the gold is taken from all characters on the realm.
You also seem to be extremely close to not having enough gold, which depending on the cost of the token, could be the reason.
its on retail, I have over 330k and the token is under 300k rn.
Same problem here. Log into wow after 2 weeks and cant reactivate with gold anymore
Continuing the discussion from Cant buy token with gold?:
I also have the same problem, and I have a character with well over a million in the bank, which is shown on the character screen. The menu to “Reactivate Now with Gold” described on this page does not show up. I suspect that this is related to your changes to the bank. Last year when you added the WarBank I was also left in a lurch when I put all my gold in the WarBank - that Reactivate Now with Gold option does not take gold from the warbank either.
Gold in the bank doesn’t count towards a token unfortunately. It has to be on the characters on a single realm or in the mail. Guild bank, warbank and personal bank don’t count.
Note - I have used this option dozens of times successfully. I know how it works. It is now broken.
It is also not offering to use a token you already have. Tried relogging battle.net, setting the realm to be the one with the toon with the token, logging in to a different account. Given that it worked for me 3 days ago, seems likely to be related to the patch somehow.
Which option? Using gold from a guild bank? A personal bank? Or a warbank?
Here’s the support article:
I mis-spoke. My character has well over a million gold in her personal bags.
Just to be clear, you’re referring to a token you purchased for gold right? A token purchased for real money cannot be turned into game time. It can only be sold on the AH for gold.
A personal bank. I tried to link that article but it would not let me.
That is correct. A token purchased with gold.
Then you’ll want to put in a ticket. This is the option I’d recommend if the gold is on the person and NOT in the bank:

You may need to put in a similar ticket unfortunately:

A token purchased with gold should be allowed to be turned into game time in most regions.
Thanks. It usually takes about an hour rummaging around for me to find the “submit a ticket” option.
Is this where the majority of that gold is coming from, as well? Perl inquired earlier with the OP but I may have missed it being responded to.
I haven’t seen it officially confirmed as deprecated, but previously gold would be taken from all characters on a given realm and you could not zero out any of those characters.
Is there any solution yet?
I have the same problem, I have the enough gold for like 2 tokens but I cant buy them :S
Same here I have 3 Characters holding enough gold (on person) to buy wow tokens 10 times over the option sometimes appears but is greyed out then it goes back to just redirecting to the purchase site.
